Such a Bounty!

I've got beans all over the few plants that the bunnies weren't able to get to, but it's still not going to amount to much of a bounty, I'm afraid.
I've got more started, but I don't think there will be enough of any of them to provide more than a handful of beans for snacking. I just don't have the room for more than a few plants.
Here is a picture of some of them growing on the plant last week, then the two that I picked so Tom and I could enjoy the first fruits of the season.
They sure were good, and even if they don't make it to the house for dinner, I'll enjoy them straight from the garden as I'm tending to my other plants.
Have you ever grown a bush variety of beans? I'm doing both the green and purple variety.

I have never tried to grow beans. I only have enough room on my property to grow a few plants also. All that we have planted is three tomato plants, some green onions and some leaf lettuce. I cannot wait until we get some fresh tomatoes. the onions are doing good and the leaf lettuce so far. I hope the tomatoes start coming on soon.

I've never done lettuce before, but after the rabbits had a feast, I decided to pick up a packet of seeds.
I have a few sprouting in two places now, and I've planted a small bit off where the rabbits normally feed, so I hope they appreciate it!

I think the beans pretty much look the same whether they are climbing or bush type.
I don't really care for green beans in a can. I'll eat them, but they're not a favorite, or even frozen for that matter.
Fresh picked a few feet away from the kitchen? Ohhhh yea ...

I have not done much in the way of veggies this year.
I have planted bush beans, but it has been lots of years ago.
I remember one year my mom used purple bush beans as a border around a front flower bed.

These purple ones really are pretty. I'll put up pictures of mine again in another discussion.

Hello Ldyjarhead, We have planted some beans too, tomatoes, broccoli and okra. We are waiting to have the first harvest. I hope no rabbit and squirrels will attack those the moment they will start to bear!

You know, I have squirrels everywhere out here but none have bothered anything of mine, just the baby bunnies.
There's enough clover out there to keep them happy now, and I've been tossing my vegetable peelings and scraps out there too. (And then of course I planted their own little patch of lettuce).
