Because they all came by, I am not talking about the ones thar come back every year, I am talking about the flowers that I had planted, not the Perinials. I am really aamazed by this. I even save my seeds, and planted them in April. do you do this?

I had to buy flowers this year but I mainly use artificial flowers and flower pots now. It is so much easier for me to mess with. I do not have to water them and take care fo them all summer long. I do not have much luck with keeping flowers living. I do have some live forevers all over my yard though. Those never die and they come back up every year.

I didn't plant any flowers neither, I did buy 3 hanging baskets for my porch. Are the moon flowers coming up? Mine didn't come up this year, at least not yet. We are still in the process of getting the yard together.

Hi, Vicky as a matter of fact they are coming back up. I think if you watering them more they will grw faster, I have about 3 or 4 of them growing, one thing about them, they grow so fast and they will over power the rest of the plants. they are pretty though.

I have mostly perennials. I do have some annuals that we planted. I am trying to move to all perennials.

You are lucky you did not have to buy flowers. We have had similar experiences, where we did not plant tomato plants but some got seeded from unpicked tomatoes. Saving you seeds is a great idea, especially if you liked the plants that you had.

Hi, Deb, sorry for my mistakes, Some of the plants, I didn't half to save the seeds, because they came right back. Marigolds, a few more I came remember the names but I know how they look when I see them. thanks for your input.

I wish I had my gardens sorted out. Our previous house with a garden (4 houses ago now) I had my own little flower patch and used to plant seedlings out. When they flowered and dropped the seeds, I would just scatter them through the garden and they would grow or not. I wanted a random effect, and this did that and also saved on expenses too buy using the seeds from the ones that already flowered. I had colour all year round, and all the flowers complimented each other nicely and added their own dimension to the whole bed. Very bright and cheery and my garden!

I do this too. I save my own seeds from the previous year for the next garden. I save hollyhock, blackeyed susans, marigolds, and all kinds of other flowers. Besides the flowering plants, I also save seed from tomatoes, pumpkins, zucchini, sunflowers and anything I can save seed from, I do. I also start new bushes from whatever I prune. I have one area of fencing that I'm trying to get a long strip of roses planted by, every year I increase it. Last year I started forsythia bushes, and all kinds of stuff for my one daughters new house. I love doing this in my garden, feels like I'm getting something for nothing. Very seldom do I ever purchase plants, unless it's something I can't get started in my sunroom in the spring. Happy gardening to you!!!
