Average weight loss with the South Beach Diet

Can anyone on the South Beach Diet please tell me what the realistic weight loss is during phase 1 (1st 14 days)? From what I read it says it should be between 8 to 13lbs. I am on day 12 and have followed the program faithfully, but I have lost 5lbs so far. Don't get me wrong, I am happy to lose those 5lbs, but I want to know if that is average. Would really appreciate some feedback! Thanks :)

I lost eight pounds the first two weeks on the South Beach Diet. After that I continued to lose steadily.
I think I lost a total of 15 pound over a six week period.
I think it's a fanstatic eating plan, my problem is once the novelty wares off of any eating program I go right back to my same old stupid eating habits.

Thank you so much! That makes me feel a lot better. I have the same exact problem. I start out of the gate strong and seem to fall off around the 3rd month. I would be thrilled with around 15lbs in 6 weeks. Good for you! I am going to keep at it :)

I think it is a differnt amount of weight loss for each person and it also has much to do with how much you have to lose .
When I did the south beach diet I was coming off the Atkins diet for 3 months and lost about 20 there .
The first week on the South beach diet I lost 8 lbs and my 2nd week I lost 4 . After that I lost about 2 every other week . Not bad for me when I am the slowest at losing .
Right now I keep switching up my diets and cant find one that works with me .

Thanks for you response! I have lost about 7 lbs total now. I'll keep at it. I think for me it has a lot to do with the excerise, or lack of I should say. I know I would have much better results if I was more active. Good luck to you as well! :)

Hi thank you so much for sharing your info here. Actually I do hear on the South Beach Diet, but I never tried on it and never know on the result. The only thing that I heard, it's kind of famous . Actually I got the book about the South Beach Diet already but since I'm that busy I still couldn't find that good time to read the book. Anyway, I'm still searching the best diet implementation based on the users past experience. All the info that will be shared are most welcome.

I have heard the same thing from a few different people that have been on the diet. I use to be a prisoner of the scale. I would weigh myself everyday, sometime a few times a day. I have broke that and am now only weighing myself once a week early in the morning when I 1st wake up. I find it to be less stressful and hopefully will add to my continued success. Thanks for the encouragement :)

I want to try this too..and i think you can really lose 8-10 pounds for a week..can you(or anybody) give me the diet plan? or the list of what you do/eat..thanks.. :)goodluck to both of us!!
