With money, Obama to try to widen the battleground

I find this recent about face of Obama to be very disturbing. To me it smacks of his presidential campaign being backed and bought by support from his very rich Muslim friends and supporters. Our nations enemies would be prepared to spend any amount of money to ensure they have their puppet as president of the USA. Am I the only one who sees a new danger for our country by Obama's latest ply?
WASHINGTON - Barack Obama faced two critical questions: where to play and how to pay. To answer both, the Democrat reversed course to become the first candidate to reject $85 million in public money for the general election.
The decision will allow the record-shattering fundraiser to raise and spend as much as he wants — and, thus, implement his strategy to expand the Electoral College playing field.
Shortly after announcing that he would rely on his vast network of private donors, Obama launched a bold new advertising campaign that signaled a desire to compete in a mix of traditional battleground states and Republican strongholds while trying to win over independents and disaffected Republicans after eight years of President Bush.
In a questionnaire last year, Obama answered "yes" when asked: "If you are nominated for president in 2008 and your major opponents agree to forgo private funding in the general election campaign, will you participate in the presidential public financing system?" He added: "I will aggressively pursue an agreement with the Republican nominee to preserve a publicly financed general election."

Key here is private funding, why the change all of a sudden in what he said in last year. And where is this private funding coming from, who is backing him. Muslim supporters, shady friends, I think you and I are the only ones who see something greatly wrong with what is going in in this election, and I agree too many think they will have a puppet to play with if Obama gets elected. They know he has no knowlegdge or experience to keep this country safe, but their heads are so full of getting a black man elected that they can't see anything else.
I do not care if he is black, or what he is. I thought it was great that there was such a host of different types running, white, black, or whatever he is, half black the way I see it, I have grand children that are bi-racial, I love them as much as my other grand kids, he talks about being proud of his black roots, what about his white roots. I thought it was really cool that a female was running, it should be an area where all can run if they choose, my problem with Obama is he wants change but the change he wants may not be what most of us would like, what would benefit all. and he can not keep us safe because he can not talk about going to the other countries and talking it out, they are not interested in talking only killing us, which they have already proved. What is it with him not wanting to allow us to drill for oil right here in the united states, so that we can maybe one day be free from the foreign countries, supply, he said the only way to deal with oil crisis is to lower the demand, what is that suppose to mean, that we give up driving and take a bus or a bicycle. HE needs to get up to the real world and know what is actually going on. He is going to change us, but it isn't going to be a change we will like. I have always thought when it come to electing someone you done it on their experience, not because they black, white or female, but what they have the experience in that would make them a good leader of our country, as for Obama I can not see where he has anything that would keep me safe, but you know what after he is elected it will be too late.

What a great response! I also have bi-racial great grand children so race has never been an issue with me. I lived for 4 years in a Muslim country so I am pretty sure most American have no idea how their lives would change, and not for the better, with an Obama as president.

I agree with this, but one thing we have to be careful about is this. There are Muslims and Muslim extremists. I believe it is possible that he has Muslim extremist that will give him any amount of money he needs. Muslims, not Muslim extremist are not a part of that. If he really cared about Muslims as individuals, his people would not have barred the two Muslim women from having their pictures taken with him. Muslims are like the rest of us who find the Muslim extremists to be the enemy. My husband is a Muslim.

Excellent point. I believe he has apologised to the two ladies involved in that incident but again that just shows to me that he says only what people want to hear. His actions show that he has now disassociated himself from his Muslim heritage, as well as his white (racists??) grandmother and his black racist church. Now I ask what is left ? Nothing but a fictionalized background . Who or what is the real Obama. BTW A very long time ago I was married under Islamic law and at that time I had Muslim friends who were not extremists. Any kind of fanatic is dangerous!

He is always apologizing for his errors or the errors of his people. If you have to apologize that much, why not think first? Because this is who he really is. Why leave that church after 20 years? Why now? Because he does not want his membership there to hurt his votes. He did not care 10 years ago. He cares now. Oprah left that same church right before he did. Why now? It says a lot about who they are. If what Rev. Wright said was taken out of context or misunderstood, why did he leave? He would still be there if it was not for the election...same with his back up, Oprah.

I agree with you on this. The press has been ranting full speed since the start of the primary about how full Obama's coffers are and he doesn't need the money at all. I highly suspect that Muslims are keeping his political warchest full. That being said, if he can somehow appear virtuous by not accepting funds from public money, he is free to play it to its full potential, because he doesn't need money and the other candidates do.

You are not the only one, I have been concerned about him since I first heard his name. I hate to be the kind of person who starts drawing conclusions based on appearances, but I can't forget this little detail. Barack Obama is a Muslim name. When Muslim's convert to Christianity, they always change their name. If he isn't either a practicing Muslim or at least a sympathizer, he too would have changed his name. That really bothers me because Islam is very anti-American as a whole, perhaps not all individuals. As well, the Shariah law is like bondage, it takes away just about everything we hold dear as freedom loving people.

I am worried about who his friends are. Her can try to disassociate himself from them but as I far as I am concerned I do not believe it to be true.

I find lots of things about obama that are disturbing. I think he has the skills to win the election but not bring the country out of this economic downturn. How stupid is he? Does anyone remember that Alaska was purchased and anwar set aside for its resources? We bought it for the oil that we now can't touch? Every other country can drill off our shoreline but not us and all Obama can say is "i wish the oil price would have risen more slowly so we could adjust better?" I'm sure the price of a gallon doesn't affect him and buddies like al gore. Allmiddle income and lowe income people this year need to turn out everyone in congress and vote for who for president???????? everyone go to drill her drill now and sign the petition!!!

Why not? He has already flip flopped from his "change" rhetoric. So far, all we have seen from him is "more of the same" in politicians.

I have found the entire Democratic offering for this Presidential Election lacking integrity, honesty, viability, and intelligence. The party as a whole has been disorganized and rifled by infighting. For the most part I think the Democrats have burned themselves as far as this election goes.
