Best Vacation Spot on the Middle of the East Coast

I live in Blacksburg, Virginia and I am about to go on vacation. I know I'm trying to not spend a lot so I want to go to a beach in either Virginia, North Carolina, or South Carolina. I'm looking for suggestions as to which beach in these states are your favorite and what you like about it.

Hi Hcromer... I've been to a few beaches but nothing really stands out as spectacular in the places you mentioned. I've been to Ocean City, MD; Virginia Beach, VA; Wildwood, NJ; Cape May, NJ; and Rehoboth Beach, DE.

Have you thought about Hilton Head since you mentioned South Carolina? I think we'll stop there on our way to Florida in the fall. Or perhaps Myrtle Beach?

My two favorite beaches are further south than you mentioned... those would be St. Simons Island, Georgia, and St. Augustine, Florida.

I have not been to very many beaches at all. I have been to Panama City Beach quite a few times though. It is located at the top part of Florida. It is very nice down there. I think I have been there three or four times so far. We have not been on vacation in years. I would loce to go back again some day.
