Are you still a defiant stubborn child in certain points in your life?

I am a mature adult. My husband on the other hand is the stubborn child! I will do 4 loads of laundry and I will even fold 90% of them too. Then I set the piles of our clothes on the bed and tell him to put them away and he just puts them on the floor next to the bed or on top of the dresser. It aggervates the crap out of me. I just do see how he can be so lazy. At least he does the dishes.... I guess I cant complain there. But when it comes to laundry or just down right cleaning it's like pulling teeth. When I finall get him to help around the house, which is maybe 3 times a month he goes all out and gets in this cleaning mode and wont stop until everything is spik and span! It's strange. I can be stubborn at times too, but not when it comes to the house being clean. I have 3 children under 5, I cant afford for it to be dirty or messy.

I have always taken suggestions if they are reasonable but I do admit I can be childishly stubborn. Fortunately, I'm single after 20 years and don't have to consider anyone else which suits me just fine.

Are you comfortable with your room the way it is? If so, don't bother cleaning it. But if it bothers you and you're not cleaning it just because someone asked you to, you'd better get busy and make your room a lovely place to be--clean or not!

My fella defies me on everything! I swear to you, Dizz, last night, we got into a knock down drag out over how we would punish our daughter, which we did discuss before having children. He told me, "I'm gonna do it this way because this is how my mom raised me!" So, I called his mom. She did not raise him that way, and she talked to him about it. If she had, I would have had a talk with her.

He just likes to kick and scream, in the end, he almost always gives in.

I think we all have some stubborn behavior. I don't know if it is always child like. But I like my towels folded a certain way. Doesn't always happen. Things like that.

I think I'm a defiant stubborn mature adult. HA!
I say that because I have always been the type of person to say "Don't tell me I can't do something because I will do it just to prove you wrong." But as I have "matured" I have limited the things that I apply that mantra to.

For example, when I was younger if someone said "You can't drink more shots of tequila than I can" I would do it just to prove them wrong. And then end up passed out at some strange guys kitchen table drooling on myself.

As I've matured I now wouldn't engage in such a thing but still have the same attitude when I am told I can't do something.

Just last Saturday I was told I could not hike 19 miles. That I wasn't in good enough shape to do it without killing over and dying of a heart attack.

I left my house at 4:30 in the morning got to the Rachel Carson trail at 6:30 and staggered my weary bones off of it at 4 in the afternoon after completing the worst 19 miles of the 34 mile trail.

So that is how I came up with my title of being a defiant stubborn mature adult

It made me laugh reading this, because you could have been describing me to a tee! I am so terrible, my inner child just sits there defiantly waiting for someone to tell me or ask me to do something. I am definately a defiant stubborn child, and I am pretty sure that I will never change.

In fact, I would even go so far as to say that I am getting worse as I get older, I am getting more defiant and more determined to do things MY way.

Well that depends on mood. When I feel like I'm going to be a couch potato for the whole day and not just even clean my room then I guess, I am a defiant stubborn child. However, most of the time I'm trying to become a mature adult. I realize that I'm not getting any younger so I really have to set goals for my future and set aside being a stubborn child.

I am a very stubborn person. I like to be defiant in my own way and on some things I will not do it unless I want to. I am good about cleaning, and I thank my fiance for that. He's made me appreciate a clean room. As for all that I am stubborn in, I am a stubborn fighter. Have a Great day.

I guess that I am a mature adult. I do like this a certain way and I can't stand my husband whom is like you. I am so sick of him stacking laundry on top of my dresser. I get pi**ed and start throwing them back down the laundry shute because they are just up there collecting dust! They will be there the next time he does laundry just less freakin dusty. I have a policy if socks come out of the dryer with no mate and after a week still no mate it goes in the trash, but he HAS to continue to stack them on MY dresser! UGH! Oh yeah this is about me huh not him?! How oh how has your husband not killed you or left you in the last 17 years??? LOL I have been doing this for all of 9 months and it makes me CRAZY!

age. lol. with me its newspapers . I am a widow but I share
my apartment with my adult son. He mildly suggested I fold
and put as many papers as I could get in the grocery cart andhe
will take them to the dumpster for me. see I am housebound with
a nasty case of shingles right now. and the papers have got out
of hand in my bedroom as I had kept putting off taking them out before I came down with the shingles. lol.
