I know that I really need to learn more about lighting, and until I do learn more, I won't be making any big investments. My plan is currently to go to Lowe's and pick up some shop lights to help me out with my lighting situation. I know that most light bulbs are absolutely horrible and make your pictures all kinds of funky colors. Can anyone tell me what kind of light bulbs I should get to keep from making my model/subject look yellow/blue/any funky color and what wattage I might need to keep them from looking too washed out? Any other tips and tricks you would like to pass on about lighting would be great also, I feel like that is currently my biggest downfall as a photographer.

I use shop lights and used to use them as a traveling pet portrait photographer as well. I use the halogen lamps on the bright yellow/orange stands. I always get the kind with two lights on the same stand, and position one on each side. And then, I also use a photographer's strobe light with a reflective umbrella that didn't cost me too much (about $100). But the other lights I got at Home Depot were really nice and cheap.

Awesome, that's exactly what I'm looking for... Thank you! If you have any more lighting advice I would love to hear it. Lighting is what I feel like I need to work on the most in my photography.
