I find no place for landline phone nowadays, since every one has now started using mobile phones, which are very handy and quite comfortable and cheap also. It is available in different colours and entertainment part also is there in the mobile. With all these advantages, why at all one should go for a landline now?

I do have a landline phone in my house. It's fairly necessary to have one especially if there is a time when we lose our electricity since it's the only one that may work. A few years back we had a blackout so bad that even the cell phones weren't in service. I was thankful of having my landline phone. In fact, I even had people coming over my house to borrow the phone to make phone calls because none of their own phones were working.

yeah, your right! everyone is using more of their mobile than landline because with the use of mobile phone you could keep in touch with someone even he's not at home,.and it is very handy wherein you could bring them with you everyday.,thanks for mobile phone! lol! have a nice day ahead!

Yes, we still use the land line phone and hardly use the cell phone at all. My husband insists that I keep the cell phone to carry whenever I'm away from the house. This is for emergencies. We used to use the cell phone for long distance but are now on a different phone system where we can call almost anywhere on the land line for free. we have an extension phone in every room of the house, except the bathroom. So where are we when the phone most frequently rings We do have a cordless phone that can be taken in there, when we remember.

Our family just has the family cellphone plan. No need for landline phone. So much easy now days with a cell since they can go any where. I do not think many people can afford two phone bills.

It is still the cheapest ways for us in our place so we often use them more than mobile phones. There are time when somebody call me on my cell phone and the land line is near me I would ask the called to use my land line instead. Calls to land line is cheaper than MP to MP. This is of course if using a prepaid and not a plan.

I still use a landline as my mum does not own a mobile so it is easier to ring her on the landline. I also find it a lot cheaper than a mobile. As i get free calls at the weekend and in the evening. I mainly use my mobile for texting.

No i am not, at least in my apartment. When my sister and I moved in we decided that no phone was needed since we both have cell phones and if anyone needed to speak to us they could just reach us on those lines. My parents though in their house have two landlines, which they need because where they live there is very bad cell phone reception.

i havent used a cellphone in ovr eight years. i have a cellphone and i think if i get a landline phone it will just be another bill that i dont need. everyone has always just called me on my cellphone.some of the older people dont get into all this new technology stuff cause they are used the old days and they feel like they dont have time to be trying to learn something new.
