Do you re-read books that you love |
| |
| Hi,I've read so many books over the years that I've loved..but sometimes i forget ..so I re-read them to enliven the characters...Most of the time it is because I enjoy the world and the characters and i want to revisit them . the most re-read books are Sherlock Holmes series.... Its always nice to visit and old friend especially during cozy and sleepless nights .So turn off your computer,Brew tea, find a comfy place and have a great read... Do you re-read the books that you love ..what are the books which you have re-read more than once and why?? | | Re-reading a book | | | | |

| | yes most definitely! there are a few books that i read at least once each year; one is dannielle steels 'message from nam' and another one is a missionary story about a missionary to china during the 1930s. i generally read non fiction (history) and these books are well written. | | | | | | |

| | I am not too much into non-fiction ...there are some parts which i am not able to digest ... Do you re-read books to refresh your memory after a long time or do you re-read to see how your response changes with the passage of time?? | | | |

| | I agree with you, I love a good book and at the moment I am a total book fiend! I keep seeing new books and buying them cos they're on sale! My favourites to re-read are any of Wilbur Smiths's books. I'm fascinated by Africa and especially Ancient Egypt and that's what his stories are about. I get really into it and connect with the characters - I love it! I've enjoyed every book he has written, even the ones I thought wouldn't be that good were just brilliant. I also enjoy most crime or thriller books. The one I've just finished was called Written in Bone and I couldn't put it down but I couldn't read it in the dark either! | | | | | | |

| | i also do that. i recently re-read mitch albom's five people you meet in heaven, and after reading it 3 or 4 times, it still makes me cry. as with turning off my computer or laptop, sometimes it is hard because i also have a collection of e-books. i really don't need an ambiance to read. in the morning i would read in the garden to save electricity. if i can, i would like to finish the book before the sun goes down :D | | | | | | |

| | I have read that ..although it did not make me cry ..its a truly sentimental book ..i have already read it twice and the more you read it ..the more you want to read it once again....it makes me wonder whether my life on earth makes a difference to someone else life....it also makes me wonder whether who is the five people that i will meet in heaven..the book is truly inspirational. It makes one go out in the world and try to make an impact on peoples lives...I recommend everyone to read this book believers or non-believers - doesn't matters. | | | |

| | Yes, I do re-read books that I love. I have a brilliant Dean Koontz book, Lightning that I have read a few times because it is such a good story and I could easily get lost in the plot a second time. I have read every book in the Harry Potter series at least twice as I wanted to refresh my memory about the plot of each just before the next one came out. I have read Tuesdays With Morrie twice because it is such a lovely, heartwarming book with lessons to teach. I may revisit some of my Stephen King books sometime soon because it is so long since I read them and my memories of them have grown dim. | | | | | | |

| | Great choices, TheDevil. I've been hooked on him since Salem's Lot. The Tommyknockers is one of my favourites. | | | |

| | I like Salem's lot better than tommy knockers..as i m not much interested in UFO's AND ALIEN ...salem's lot is pleasant and fun to read but it was not scary the way i expected may be bacause it was written thirty-forty years back....and may be the concept of horror was different at that time...but i have to say the main characters were well developed and i felt like i got to know them reaaally well and to be a part of the town that they lived in.... | | | |

| | I've read some books dozens of times. Currently re-reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman, which just made my jaw drop when I read it. He's probably the author I hate most, as he makes writing a book look so damned easy ;) Agree on the Sherlock Holmes stories, I've read those a fair few times, too. Other stuff I've re-read? The Harry Potter series, Douglas Adams' stuff... to be honest, anything I own has gotten read at least twice. | | | | | | |

| | Yes! I do re-read books especially if I was glued to it the first time. When I've ran out of good books to read, I browse my bookshelf for old books and I read them again. Sometimes I re-read a book up to 3 times. | | | | | | |

| | I would never re-read any books, unless they are reference/self-help books and even then I would just refer to them. There are way too many books in the world for me to be wasting time re-reading books I have already read... especially in my house. I have over 200 books I have yet to read. When my father passed away over 2 years ago I brought a bunch from his collection home. I also can't resist picking up bargains at secondhand stores, etc. Even the library tends to draw me into taking out a book I want to read. No, I never re-read a book. | | | | | | |

| | Nope. I would go to the library or a book store and look for books. People recommend books all the time (usually on this site). If I like the sound of them I write them in a little notebook which I keep on hand so I can check it when I go to the library or a book store. I have no desire to re-read books. | | | |
