This is another extremely easy pattern that works up very quickly and turns out a very nice afghan with little effort.
I believe it's called 'Trail of Tears', and is basically just double crochet with several chains in between that you finger weave that comes out similar to a cable.
If you look closely, you'll see that the bottom part has already been 'woven' and the top has not.
I love these colors; they remind me of being at the beach.
Do you have a favorite pattern that you find yourself using more often than others?

My favorite would be the granny square. Not particularly the ones that have to be sewed together. But the large granny square. They make awesome baby afghans. I made several for my grandbaby awhile back. i will have to check out the pattern of this as soon as I submit this response since I am responding through my email and can't see it just yet.

You know, I can't master the granny square to save my life!
If I really pay attention I can do a simple one, but it's too tedious to me, all that counting, and then I get lost as to where I left off.
Much easier for me to go back and forth repeatedly - I can't get lost that way!

Thanks. That pattern is so easy to do and works up very quickly. The whole thing is just double crochet with a few chains in between!

I did find it online somewhere, but doubt I have it bookmarked anywhere.
I'll bet you can find it if you search, though. I'm pretty sure the name was Trail of Tears, so if you use that in combination with crochet or afghan or something, I'm sure it will pop up easy enough.

I have a baby blanket pattern I use all the time...its very simple but it looks awesome with that fuzzy baby wool you can buy. Its basically knitting 125 stitches straight across until the blanket its 35-40 inches long (depending on your desired length). I tried patterned knits with that wool but they didn't look very nice.
I haven't learnt to crochet yet.

That sounds pretty. I don't work much with the fancy yarns, I prefer to just vary things with the colors I choose.

I like using different colours for items.
Currently i'm trying to make http://www.craftyarncouncil.com/projects/baby.html
I'm making it in a tan colour rather than white though as white jut gets too dirty too fast. Its very slow going I started it back when the Stanley cup play offs started and I've gotten two panels of 7 completed.

Beautiful!
I've never been able to do anything that needed to be pieced together. I've never done granny squares or mile-a-minute or anything. There sure are some pretty patterns out there, though, so I wish I could get over that.
