Should you allow your dog to sleep in your bed with you?? |
| |
| I am a 7 year old Lahsa APso and he has been sleepin in either my bed or my parents bed ever since he was born. If I don't allow him to he will not go to sleep on the floor. He will cry and bark and roam the house. He is so use to the fact of sleeping on the bed that he doesn't know any other way. Now that I have a 9 month old baby I do not allow him to sleep with me so his only other option is to sleep with my parents. Many people would think allowing a dog to sleep in the same bed is wrong, what do you think??? | | | | | |

| | WHAT EVER YOU DO, DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT LET THAT DOG SLEEP WITH THAT BABY... I was 1 years old, 16 now, and my mom told me that she was so scared when my cat was sleeping with me, (he still living 19 years old impressive huh) so she made him jumped off the bed running scared, but anyway I wouldn't recommend your dog sleeping with you in the bed, cause they may do disgusting things while you sleep. But if you been fine now, just keep doing it if you want. | | | | | | |

| | the reason your mom would not let the cat sleep with you is an old wives tale about cats taking childrens breathe. my cats about always slept with one of the kids even as babies and they are all grown and fine. also, many people let their dogs sleep with them including myself. should be no problem as long as the dog is clean and healthy with shots etc. | | | |

| | I let my dog sleep with me when she isnt dirty or stinky. She's also got to stay out of my face or she has to go sleep somewheres else. Some days she just doesn't want to sleep up on the bed and she leaves...but the bed is too high for her to get back up herself so then she sleeps in her own "bed". Other days its just too hot to have another body warming up the bed. | | | | | | |

| | I don't think it is wrong to let your dog sleep with you in the bed. But some says it is harmful to the health because of the furs that might get into your respiratory tract (through the nose). My girlfriend has a dog and he sleeps in the bed with her. But at times when she is in Manila for work, the dog just sleeps under the table. If you are worried about your child's heath, maybe you can let your dog sleep in a doormat made of cloth, it would feel like your dog is sleeping in the bed too. | | | | | | |

| | I see nothing wrong with having a dog sleep with you, although mine done. Mine don't sleep with me only because the cats are there first usually. As for the baby - why doesn't the child have its own baby bed? That way it wouldn't have to sleep in the same bed with adults. | | | | | | |

| | Hi Rzelikman! My dogs are a part of my family. I treat them as my children and so I let them sleep with me as often as they want to. I know how safe it is to let my pets sleep with me because I personally take care and groom them so I know how clean they are. They don't have allergies or any disease that might infect me. I know cause they are always checked by their veterinarian. But even though I let them sleep with me and I know they're clean, I still take extra precautions. Like they have their own blanket that I put on my bed for them to lay on. I also replace the bed sheets often to prevent it from stinking. I also vacuum the mattress often to prevent mites or flees to burrow on it cause' you might not know if none of these insects have fallen on the bed. You can consider these extra precautions as my tips to prevent yourself from getting sick though you know that your pets are safe and clean. Always bear in mind that prevention is better than cure. Ciao! | | | | | | |

| | We have a small indoor dog that is ten years old and for four of those years she slept on our kids beds and when they moved out she started sleeping with my husband and me. Well, last year we had enough of it. She was totally hogging the bed, snoring and moving around to the point that WE could not sleep. So we went out and bought her a bed and didn't she have a fit. She wanted nothing to do with it for about a week, but we did not give in to her. We made her stay off our bed. Eventually she started laying on the bed after we put one of my husband tee shirts he had worn on it. I guess the smell was comforting for her. Now we have no problem whatsoever. Everyone is sleeping much better in their own beds....although she still snores. | | | | | | |

| | I won't let any dog sleep in my bed with me, though many of my friends like to do so. I love dogs, to be honest. But I should they should sleep where they are supposed to sleep. Pet dogs are cleaner compared with wild dogs. But they still carry bacterials which might be harmful to your health. And they shed hair which will make your bed a mess. | | | | | | |

| | i think you are spoiling your dog too much. it is fine to let a dog sleep in your bed assuming that is is clean and does not smell bad. but it would also be better if you teach your dog to sleep in other places in your house as well. or perhaps its own sleeping area. | | | | | | |
