Hmmmmmm, good question, inquiring rinds want to know. (That would be specifically 'pork rinds' hehehe) Out in my area when we roast a whole pig it's called a 'pig roast'. When we make the smaller size (like the large size of a piece of beef we'd roast), then we call it 'roast pork'. Even though we call it a pig roast, we're still roasting pork, and some locals call it a 'pork roast' interchangeably with pig roast. I think in general, when people say pork roast, they're talking about the whole pig, and when they say roast pork, it's just the size of the cut that's suitable for roasting. Hahaha, I know what I'm trying to say, but I'm not sure I'm saying it right (must be that some-timers disease kicking in again lol)

Thank you. Your response makes perfect sense to me. The question didn't seem to when I first posted it so I'm glad someone understood it.

I am pretty sure that if it is any type of pig meat then it is considered pork even if it is still the whole pig. I have gone to a pig roast once, just seeing the pig in the pit grossed me out. I was convinced to at least try it...never again!!! I thought it was disgusting!!!
