Might not sound like much, but in a year you could lose over 50 lbs. For those of us that have more than 5 lbs. to lose, this could be great! Check out the article. http://www.nubella.com/content/view/5691/

What a great article! I already do some of those things. I try to use a smaller plate and take a short walk when I really want a snack. I am trying to make better food choices. Lower calorie alternatives to the fattening high calorie things I am craving. A family member brought in huge sticky cinnamon rolls yesterday as a treat. I walked around the facility and grabbed a twizzler instead. It also helped that when I got back to the desk, all the cinnamon rolls were gone!

I am waiting for it to download. Ah it is finished. It is very interesting, but I need to lose more than one pound a week. I mean I hope to live to be in my hundreds, but I doubt I will make it that far. I have a very metabolism and I have to go for a walk right now. And we are going out today and that will mean more food to eat. It never ends. I hope they have plenty of fruit there. I do not care for hamburgers.

This is pretty good...sort of hits the nail on the head. It's about change rather than diet which is the whole point of weight loss. My issue is , I still eat too much. The crappy thing is...I've been gaining weight since I found the internet...I became more sedentary for one thing...but at least I was working part time. I've been looking for a list of foods and their calorie count. I cant find a list that has on it the things I eat. They are generally divided into the food groups with a doazen or s foods listed in that group. For instance..."drinks" will list a decaf latte and a capuccino but it won't list a mug of instant coffee with skim milk and a sweetener.

Well, I checked out the link and it makes sense really. Just cut 500 calories, which isn't much, from your daily intake and you will automatically lose one pound a week. I started to change my way of eating about 5 months ago and started eating healthier foods and less junk food. I also cut out all carbs for the first two months and in those two months I lost 20 lbs. Then I have slowly added a few carbs back into my diet since they have good value too, not just sugar, but only three days a week. I am still losing weight and over the last 3 months I have lost another 10 pounds. It is going slow now, losing about one pound a week, just like the site said. But at least this way I know the weight will stay off this time because I have changed my eating habits to better ones. I only have about another 15 pounds to go to reach my goal, so at the rate of 1 pound a week I should be good to go in about 4 months.

That is totally awesome! And making the decision yourself, to pick and choose what you can live without, and make it a lifestyle change, will make all the difference! Well done! And good luck!

Thanks, it is a struggle but then anything easy isn't worth having, or so they say, whoever they are.

That is a really good article... simplistic but very good. Some points... get out of the house... and do something you don't usually do. I know people who walk a mile but are so fat...... but if they did something out of the ordinary their body would start shedding pounds. Smaller plates. Unlike the French we eat with our eyes... I use a saucer when I eat and then if I feel I need more then I eat more. One thing that I was taught was take a bite put down the utensils... masticate longer and you will lose weight. Again great article Zelo

Thanks for the info. Losing one pound a week sounds good to me. I don't even want to loose 50lbs, just 20 or 30 would be good for me. My doctor put me on adderall for focus and motivation, which is making me drop about 3 pounds every two weeks. The great thing is that I don't have to do anything to drop the weight.

being overweight is always a problem. first, you look ugly, second you get fatigue easily and last but not the least people look at you as if you are a heavy eater. so being overweight is a big problem and loosing even a bit will lead to a better future for people like us.
