Would you like to receive thanks or praises for every good job you have done in the office or do you thing it is not needed because you are paid to do the job?

yes dear who wd not like the job well done appreciated? well i am afraid every good job may not however find a praise or appreciation since all bosses/ supervisors wd never like to repeat the same thing over and over again . rather their expectations are likely to increase and they will not be able to forgive you for your small errors here and there. but a certain level of performance is expected out of every job by all supervisors!!

Everyone likes to know they are appreciated and it costs nothing to thank someone. In the job I do, people thank me often and it makes me feel like a worthwhile and useful person. Similarly, I thank people who do anything which makes my job a little easier.

Personally, where I work, it is hard to get Praises for a job well done most of the time. There are times though I have heard something from my Boss which does make me feel good, but I think a lot of the time he does not say something so that people do not let it go to their head as some have done. But I work for a place where I am a calltaker and help take calls for people needing cabs. Sometimes I feel it would be nice if he could compliment us all a little more at times.

Of course I would! It is always nice to hear when a job has been done well, instead of just complaints when someone screws up. I think it is important to know one's opinion when someting is right as when something is wrong.

When i was a supervisor i made sure to tell my people when they had done an extra good job, of course if they were slacking i told them that to! Being appreciated makes you have pride in doing your job well and being unappreciated makes you unhappy in you job.

Good question. I don't expect a pat on the back each good job I do but a simple, 'great day today, thanks' is always what I told my co-workers. I was supervisor of the Customer Service Desk at Wal Mart (14 yrs.) and ALWAYS thanked whoever was working beside me. But that is the kind of person I am. Janet

I think praise and recognition in the work place along way with employees. It makes for much happier workers and this means more productivity too. Ellie :D

Just last week, as I was leaving Wal Mart to go home after getting a few things, I got praised by the store manager for doing a great job as an overnight customer service manager. I was off that night and to hear that praise made me feel really good and glad that I am doing my job so well. I didn't expect it but I do like to hear it every now and then to make sure that I am on the same page with the managers as far as doing my job correctly.

Yes I do. If I am working hard I would like to know that I am doing a good job. Everyone likes to be praised its in our nature. plus, if supervisors dont praise their employees then their employees wont work as hard because they dont feel appreciated.
