a snail - it can sleep for three years, can you believe it! some of them do have snails as pets, what would be the purpose if they spend three years all together in sleep!

In the animal category per se. But in the man category, I can be a finalist. Hahaha. Yeah. Actually I can sleep for a day if I want to. Hahaha. Anyway, sleeping is one of my hobbies although for now it becomes a threat to my studies. :D

Here is an interesting trivia I came across related to sleep. "Humans sleep on average around three hours less than other primates like chimps, rhesus monkeys, squirrel monkeys and baboons, all of whom sleep for 10 hours."

I do. That's weird about the snail. I didn't know that. I wish I could sleep for three years. Every time I wake up I always need an extra 8 hours just to feel like I'm caught up with everything, it sucks. Even if I got over ten hours I feel like I could sleep more.

yeah that doesnt make sense on having them as a pet.. i wonder how often they fall asleep? if they just sleep 3 years and live 10 then i guess it wouldnt be so bad

That would be the most boring pet ever I say. Why would you want to sleep three years. I guess because it takes them year to crawl 50 ft. it has over exerted them and they have to recoop. LOL! I do not know but that is crazy.

I know, I know! The answer would be: yours truly! Now in my country Australia, it's the winter and it's very very cold. When I sleep I will cover my whole body with the blanket to feel warm, and in the morning when it's time to get up, I just continue sleeping because it's just too cold to get out bed. I remember just a couple of days ago when I slept at about 3am and only woke up at about 6pm thereafter; that means I slept for a solid 15 hours! That's more than half a day spent on sleeping! To avoid this situation from happening, nowadays I tend to do my sleeping in the afternoons.....so I've become a nocturnal!

Wow! that is really amazing, I could never sleep that long and I accidently slepped in till 12:15 today. I thought the idea of hibernation was insane, let alone three years! Well you learn something everyday!
