Who would really still be filming with all that going on? |
|
I watched Cloverfield the other night on DVD for the first time. I thought that it was an interesting movie. The camera shaking was a little annoying. But seriously, Who would really still be filming with all that going on? I sure would not have been still filming. Have you seen this movie? What did you think of it?

In some ways I can see why you would carry on filming in that situation because you don't want to die without people knowing and seeing this monumental moment. Its a good film and an intelligent revamp of a genre.

2. ersmommy1 (10496) | 1 year ago | I liked Cloverfield. I think the shaking camera was to lend to the realism. I don't know if alot of people would still be filming. But in this video age anything is possible.I can just see it landing on You tube. lol

I'm going to contact mylot because I don't like not getting your notifications. I like your discussions. Heck, I still can't shut up about the time you said your daughter's bark was shrill!

4. Xdrowninghavocx (3056) | 1 year ago | I know people who would still film. Even I'd still film. However, I don't know about the going back into the city part, lol. I'd want it for myself mostly if I ended up surviving the event. Some people recorded the events of 9/11 with their cameras from their apartments. It really is no different. It's about living through a traumatic event and wanting proof it really happened.

5. jessej9 (332) | 1 year ago | I would still be filming the entire event, for one reason is that an event like that in Cloverfield is not a ordinary event, the same reason why news people cover disasters and all.
I liked the movie, it brought to me the suspense and all, and it looks very realistic with the "unprofessional" way of holding the camera, but it did help a lot for the film.

6. wonder_grrrl66 (185) | 1 year ago | I rented it and watched it at home. I really enjoyed, maybe less than I would've if I'd seen it onscreen. But it did revamp the movie monster genre and did it well. If I'd been one of the characters, I probably would've kept filming as long as I could. And if you watch there are carefully chosen edits to move the story along.

7. beautyqueen26 (9134) | 1 year ago | I read a review that said that the movie was supposed to look as if it'd been filmed on a home movie camera as if someone had a camera and happened to be filming on the spot as it happened.
It was supposed to appeal to the twenty something crowd who frequents YouTube.
Don't think the premise is realistic.
Haven't seen it yet. Might go watch it online later.

8. Bethany1202 (2196) | 1 year ago | LOL that's funny and true -- I don't think I'd continue filming either! More important things to worry about than holding a camera.
I thought the shaky camera was a bit annoying too. I also thought the movie was quite boring and the ending wasn't too good, in my opinion. It's not a movie I'd watch again and definitely not one of my favorites.

9. DaddyOfTheRose (2805) | 1 year ago | There are people with a reporter mentality. That's how we got news reporters and newspapers to begin with. They are fascinated with such things as natural disasters or monster invasions. Consider the storm chasers who run after tornadoes. I would not do that but obviously someone would.
