The age of the plane really isn't that relevant. Planes need to be properly maintained. I can't tell you how many times I've had flights delayed because a plane needed repairs before take off. Many of those planes were only a couple years old. The important thing though is that they were inspected and fixed before take off. Presidential candidates shouldn't be required to fly in newer planes. Their planes should simply meet the appropriate safety standards.

Absolutely not. If something more serious had happened, it would of course have been very sad, but it was a risk he chose to take. Plus, problems could just as easily arise on a newer plane.

If they did that who would pay for it? I think the politicos want all their money for their campaigns. Hopefully they will choose safe planes for themselves. If they are going to be smart enough to lead this country they ought to be smart enough to choose a safe plane.
