I heard the internet became public around 1990. It did not really start to get any attention until around 1995 is when I remember. Was anybody surfing the web from 1990-1993 here. I'm sure the web was pretty dull back than but than again more clean and less cluttered.

I did occasionally, but it was really dull. First of all, it was on a blue and white screen and it went super slow (remember the 56K modem? now imagine way slower than that, I think it was 14.4 modems back then. You could get online and talk to people, but there weren't actual websites that you could look at pretty things. No online shopping, nothing fun. Just chatting with people you usually already knew and then later came some message boards, if you could call them that.

The funny thing is, it seemed so exciting at the time. Whenever I look back at past computer technology like that, I always wonder how we tolerated it. But it was the best thing we had back then, so we loved it.

The technology now will probably be considered boring years from now. I played an 8 bit Nintendo back than and thought it was the best thing.

I started around 1998 I think. I remember those 14.4 KBPS modems and dial up!

We started with a dial up when we got our first computer in 2000. It stinks because every time somebody would call by telephone you would no longer be online.

If I remember it right when Windows95 was launch that was the 1st time I saw the internet, the site are mostly pure text and very seldom with simple gif image. The computer then was 386 or 486 and was considered the top of the line then. The 33kbps modem I guess was new then and the fastest.

I remember first getting on the internet back in either 95 or 96 in the library at school with other students. I can't remember much about it and did not know how to use a computer that well at the time. It was kind of imtimidating as I did not have a computer at home to know much about them. My family got our first computer in 2000.
