I have a bischon-shih tzu cross. She is two years old this year and shes got major personality. She adores going to see my dad. I take her with me to my parents place alot and I ask her some days if she wants to come and she literally will shake her head and refuse to get in the car. If i ask if she wants to go see dad shes trying to get in the car before the door gets open.
She has a toy mouse that should be a cat toy (I was almost too big when i got her but she grew into it and now its too small) that she wont let me touch. If i go to move it she plants her butt on it or growls at me...she'll even go to hide it on me. I ask her for the brush and she will bring me her brush to brush her.
At night I've been leaving animal planet on for her because then shes not getting me up at 4 am to go outside to play with the cats. If i don't leave it on and she sleeps with me...I usually wake up at 4 am with her sitting on my chest looking at me and growling or barking at me. If she leaves the bed during the night she cant get back up on her own so she sits beside it and barks at me.
Even more quirky is...IF she has an accident in the house She pees in front of the toilet. Never on the carpet or anywhere else.(she hasnt had an accident in at least 6 months - more likely to happen in the winter because she stays in while i'm at work so she doesnt freeze to death)
do your pets have any quirks or any interesting things they like to do?

I couldn't help but read your discussion when you said your dog was 'quirky' lol We got a chesapeake bay retriever 3 years ago, my s/o had one when he was younger and tried to tell me they were quirky dogs, and now I believe him! LOL The one he had when he was younger didn't like mailboxes next to the road. Ours will jump up and try to get the ceiling fan above our bed moving if it isn't on, she jumps up and hits it with her nose. She also had an issue with a mailbox, we had walked by for months with no issues, then one day she all but tried to pull me into the street so she didn't have to walk past it!? Have no idea what that was about, but several months later, no issue with the mailbox. If my s/o tells her to 'watch mommy, keep an eye on her and keep her safe' as he's heading off to work, she does, almost to the point of driving me crazy, she stays right with me the whole day, won't let me out of her sight......if he doesn't tell her that, then she is content to just go off and play with her toys or go sleep on the couch. lol

Thats awesome. She can actually get to the ceiling fan? Thats gotta be a fairly good jump up even on the bed.
My quirky little dog loves my dad so much if hes anywhere within a half mile radius of where she is she's gotta go ride in the truck or the tractor with him.

She is a junmper, my s/o is 5' 11" and she can jump up above his head. She and I are usually outside about the time my s/o comes home, and we are not sure the distance, but I do know that she perks up and hears him coming long before I do (when he rides his Harley or takes the mustang). My basset I had always wanted to go with my ex's son, and whenever he stopped by he would take her for a ride, even if it was just down the road a bit and back, she was happy lol.

Wow thats high.
My moms dog (my dogs mom) regularly stows away in my car and i get home with an extra dog in my car. So she stays for a sleep over and i take her home on my way to work. My mom said for ages she couldn't figure out how I missed Rosie hiding in the back seat until she stowed away in moms car and they got 20km from home before she wiggled out from where she wedged herself so they wouldn't see her.
