Chick flick fans, I need your help. Which film do you like better Terms Of Endearment or Steel Magnolias? Both are great films with great casts. The storylines are similar too but I like Steel Magnolias better. There was more characters and laughs too. How about you?

Hey , That's okay. I just saw Terms on Lifetime Movie Network. And Steel airs on TNT at times and Turner Classic Movies all the time. If you don't get either one of these, you can rent the DVDs.

Most movies with Shirley MacLaine I find most enjoyable to watch. I enjoyed both of the movies you mention, but I think I enjoyed Steel Magnolias more. Shirley, Olympia, Sally, Julia, Dolly and Daryl (Hannah) did such an excellent job of acting in that movie. They made me laugh and cry and laugh while I was crying. Tom Skerritt, Dylan McDermott and Sam Shepard weren't bad either! PEACE

There are definitely more laughs in Steel Magnolias, but I don't hold that against Terms of Endearment. I love them both. I don't really know how I would choose between them. There's something so powerful about Terms of Endearment on multiple levels, it gets at me every time I watch it. Steel Magnolias is also very touching and horribly funny. They're both just awesome and among my all time favorites.

I'm going to have to go with a tie on this one. Steel Magnolias might have had more laughs, but it fit the movie. Terms of Endearment was very good for the type of movie it was, even without the laughs. I just know both of them are movies I can't help watching when I come across them on tv.

I like Steel Magnolias best too....I think the mixture of charaters is what made the movie and the casting was so fantastic....

I loved both, but have to say the humor in Magnolias was fantastic. I loved Shirley MacLaines character, hard on the outside and jelly on the inside. The whole cast was great.I can't tell you how many times I watched both. I liked Jack Nickolson and Shirley's relationship in Terms, it had alot of funny scenes.
