How many of you think that the Joker is the best character in Batman lore? I am leaning more towards the Riddler, as portrayed by Jim Carrey in Batman Forever, although Tommy Lee Jone's acting was pretty good too! :)
Since then the movies have become very much more darker in tone, and brooding action movies kinda make for strange summer fare, don't you think?

| |  I haven't seen it yet, although I'm anxiously awaiting the chance to .. just to see Ledger's rendition of The Joker. From the trailers and teasers alone, it's obvious he takes the character to a whole other level. Unlike the role played by Nicholson, which was goofy and silly, Heath brings an eerie and sinister quality to the role. I always admired his diversity as an actor, but this is beyond even what I thought he was capable of.
It'd be nice to see him rewarded for it, even if it's only posthumously.

| |  If he does win the Academy Award for playing the Joker, will this posthumous award be one of sympathy, or will it be because his acting was superb? Can't help but be cynical. I'm planning on seeing the film on Thursday, as my employer has given out free tickets to a private screening.

From what I have seen so far, his Joker really does remind me of The Crow a bit too much, but that's just me.
As a note from Twilight Zoneville- Brandon Lee who portrayed The Crow, also died before that film was released... Errie, No?
