I'm excited for the new season of Monk because I think he's the best portrayal of a disabled person we have on television at the moment. Even though the actor is not disabled, at least I don't believe he has OCD, you can tell he has spent some time around people with the disorder. I hope that they are honestly going to deal with the loss of Monk's shrink, the actor playing him died. And, as anyone who knows anyone with OCD will tell you, this is a big upheaval in their lives. I hope that Monk's writers (who I feel are very good) simply don't gloss over this life event for Mr. Monk or act like it happened months ago when the show was off season. This is a big cop out in my opinion and I won't be happy if they do it.
What do other people think? Are you excited for the season premiere?

I loved him in that show, too. Do you remember when he got all those crazy cable channels and became addicted to TV, until they disconnected him?

I haven't watched since Sharona left the show. The show just lost something once she left. But I think the actor does well with his portrayal of Monk. Tony Shaloub is a talent.
