I enjoy reading, and one of my favorite types of books is ones that teach me something valuable. I even find value in books which attempt to teach you something and actually make you realize that isn't the right way to do it at all.
One of the most inspirational books to me was Sun Tzu for Success by Gerald Michaelson. I was given this book by an old boss of mine while working in Commercial Real Estate. He wanted me to learn from the book. I actually still need to return it to him (keep meaning to do that).
Sun Tzu for Success creates inspiration through using the Art of War as a technique to overcome challenges and accomplish goals. The Art of War has been used for many centuries. You can read some of the traditional text at this website:
www.chinapage.com/sunzi-e.html
sun Tzu for Success goes on to teach negotiation skills that can be used in every day life and business.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys this type of reading.
Please share with me your inspirational books...

.. I like best the Chicken soups series because they are inspirational and true to life stories.. everytime i read it, i feel being uplifted and my hope for living grows even bigger because of those stories which i've read.. I also love the Chronicles of Narnia which reminds me of how Jesus came on earth and sacrifice himself for us..

I still own many Chicken Soup books. I always liked them because they were real stories sent in by people. Some of them bored me, but most of the time they were either inspirational or made me think more about the way I am treating people. The books I still own by Chicken Soup are the Romantic Soul series, the Couples series, and then there is this one book that is a sub-category of Chicken Soup called Life Lessons for Women.

Lately I have taken to watching Joyce Meyer online. I was "directed" to her by some unknown entity - my television kept going on by itself in the early morning hours when she was on. Now that I watch her every day my tv doesn't go on anymore. She is very inspirational and humourous. I have purchased two of her books but she has many, many books and CDs. I have listed to 3 of the 4 CDs in "Finding and Achieving Your Destiny". I wish it was a DVD cuz she is fun to watch. I am currently reading "21 Ways to Finding Peace and Happiness" and have on hand "The Secret to True Happiness". I am finding, though, that a lot of what is in her books she preaches at her seminars. You may want to check her out at http://www.joycemeyer.org. She also has 1 minute daily inspirational messages.
Keep happy!

I don't read a lot of "inspirational" books, I get really bored with them! But when I was younger I used to read Christopher Pike books, does anyone remember those? At any rate, a lot of his books featured Krishna and associated philosophies (I'm totally stupid when it comes to religion), specifically the Last Vampire series. I always did better with my inspiration blended with fiction, I feel less like I'm being preached to...
And if anyone here has kids, get them the Christopher Pike books! They are really great, ages 11 and up!
