Which Colour To Choose Maroon Or Green? Carpet Decision - Your Advice Please

Hi Patricia, thats what I was thinking too really both carpets are flecky rather than just bold colour, the green one is a lot lighter but they are both hardwearing and I have delibrately tramped dirt on them to see how easy they clean up and both are fine. I think I am being frawn to the green to enhance the colour on the walls and the marron curtains and sofas will link with each other then but it is a big decision and I want to get it right. I will let you know but I am being more drawn to the green myself. Ellie:D

Hi Gemini_rose, I think that I am being drawn more towards the green myself especially as the curtains and sofas are dark. It is a light and airy room but I think the maroon would close it in a bit. I will let you know what I decide though and maybe post picure of finshed room. Oh I'm so ecited I have not had carpets since I moved here two and half years ago it will be luxury eh! Ellie:D

Hi Nova, The marron is a lighter hue but I think I am being drawn more to the green myself as I too think it will bring out all the different greens in the pictures too and the walls are really just a hint but will enhance that also. Perhaps with heavy sofas oh and pouffe and the full length maroon curtains marron carpet may be too much and too heavy. Thanks for advice. I will let you know which one I do end up going for though and maybe upload a pic too once it is all laid. Huggles. Ellie:D

Hi Yes I find green is a very relaxing colour and as I have so many green plants in the room it will be like I have bought the outside in eh! I will let you know what I choose but that is the one I am beeing drawn to. Ellie:D

Hi Wildplace, It is a paler shade of maroon but yes I am being drawn more to the green myself. I have both samples on the floor at the moment and it certainly does lift the colour from the walls and feel more comfortable. I will let you know what I choose. Ellie:D

I am being drawn to the green myself but my son who is four likes the other one bless but girls not here and need to choose by Monday. I will let you know wha I decide but I do fin green very relaxing and I spend most of my time here so I think it will be the green really.

Hi Thanks skinnychick, I think it would be a more relaxing colour for me to have and will enhance the paleness of the walls and not look as dark and as heavy with the sofas and curtains. I will let you know what I choose though. Ellie:D

Hi Skinnychick, I didn't go for either colour in the end. I went with a dark beige fleck one so a neutral shade so no matter what the decor it will go with. Green would have been good but if I wanted to change the colour scheme in the future I would have been limited. Ellie:D

Hi Tamara, Well you are the first that has gone with the maroon the rest have gone with green, yes my question was the warmth factor too as the lounge is such a large space but I must admit I feel more relaxed around the green. I have the swatches on the floor at the moment so will see which one grows on me over the weekend and then make my choice. I will definitely let you know what I choose though. Huggles. Ellie:D

Hi Shintongs, Yes I am definitely being drawn to the green even though I know it isn't everyones taste it will compliment like you say whereas maroon could make the room smaller and darker. I will let you know what I choose though. Ellie:D

I didn't go with either green or maroon in the end, I chose a dark beige fleck colour instead which is neutral and will go with any colour scheme really. Ellie:D

Hi Cyberfluff both the maroon and the green are lighter in shade rather than dark but I feel the green would go better. I have always gone with a natural beige neutral colour carpet before but with the little one feel I should get something a bit darker and hardwearing. I will let you know what I choose though. I'm sorry I most have overread the part of them being lighter than the furniture, I thought you were going for darker shades because maroon is dark type of purple isn't it? Not sure now though... I'll try and keep updated on the carpeting!
