A beautiful place but with poor photos

Currently I am helping my mom's friend to make a DVD photo album so that she can watch her photos from TV directly. She had a trip to Tibet last year. Tibet is a very beautiful place. But I have to say that my mom's friend didn't take good photos at all. Such a beautiful place but with poor photos. I can even take better photos in the parks here. It's quite boring to watch photos like that in my opinion.
I always think that people can take very good photos especially in the beautiful places, but I am wrong. She may enjoy watching these photos, but I don't. I appreciate people who can take very good photos to simple views or stuff. Unfortunately some people can't even take good photos in such a beautiful place.

Hi youless! Some people have the eye for photography and others don't. I guess, I do lack the eye or the skill for taking photos but I make sure that I take several shots each scenery or pose so I can always be sure that there will be one that will come out beautiful. haha..Thanks to the technology of digicam wherein I can take more than a hundred shot. haha..
Take care and God Bless!

Yea I always think that if something is beautiful, the photos come out should be really nice. However, I guess some people just don't have that "talent" and even with a beautiful place, the photos don't look very nice!

I always think you just press the button in the beautiful place, then the photo won't be so bad anyway. But now I know it's not true
You know going to Tibet needs lots of money and physical energy, and that's so bad they came back with these photos. Somewhat it's a regret.

To that I say take as many photos as you possibly can snap even if it seems like an insane amount of photos... why? A lot of them are going to be bad and you are going to throw them away but you will also get some good ones (even by accident).
I take pictures of everything and the stuff that I really want to get a good photo I will take 5-10 photos of the same thing... say a flower or a sunset. I also get a little more sophisticated and play with F-Stop and White Balance to get some really cool shots. I got one of my wife at the beach and purposefully turned the white balance way up so it looked 'washed out'.
I put it as my desktop and she saw it one day and asked where I got that photo and how I did it! When I started getting into the details all I got was a 'forget it'. She didn't want to really know how it was done but it was a great photo anyways. I would post it but she doesn't like to have her photo on the internet. I will try to do the same trick with something else and post it.
Thanks

Have you tried using applications like Photoshop or Picasa to give the 'boring' photos a little more life?
It could be quite a few hours of fun. And if you get your son involved, it would be even better. Why? Cos kids see things from a different perspective from adults.
With his input, and your creativity, you make breath new life into those photos that you deem boring.

Since I finished to make the photo album for my mom's friend. I already delete those photos. Some photos are even not clear, something wrong with the focus, I think. And some photos even don't have a theme. It's almost all black besides a few lights. Or it is a simple sky photo with a little bit white clouds. Anyway, you won't think these are good photos.
