I think I might have just been accused of being a cheater

I'm a little upset, and maybe it's such a small thing that I shouldn't let it bother me, but I'm offended.
I posted a discussion the other day titled "Would this qualify as a nervous break down?". Everyone was pretty supportive, but a recent poster asked if I really did type it or copied it?!
The post really wasn't THAT lengthy, but from their post, it sounds to me like they are accusing me of cheating and or lying about what I put.
Everyone one of my posts is always honest, and I don't copy/paste. Why would I admit something so personal in a message and copy and paste it from elsewhere? That's just stupid.
I'm really offended and bothered by this.
This is probably only the first time that someone posted something to me that hurt my feelings.
I guess I should be lucky since I know others have encountered bigger and ruder things here on Mylot.

i am so sorry to hear about that. it can be really irritating when someone accuses me of something i didn't do. it's even worse when it is obviously not true. i wonder why would anyone want to do that?
i'm also sorry to hear about your situation. i don't know what happened but for you to think it might be a nervous break down, it should be something serious. i hope you have recovered from it. don't let the person hurt your feelings, it's not worth it. take care and stay strong. cheers ;p

i'm so happy to hear that everything is better now. we all go through phases like this. it seems that the whole world is 'against' us. things are all going wrong and it seem so hopeless. but these people don't have the right to make fun of the situation. glad that you are feeling much better now. take care and be strong. cheers ;p

Hi apple! Last week I was having a really hard time. My son was in the ICU, and we are financially tight right now and it was just so hard. I felt helpless and just stressed out. I came here to just vent. Soemone was trying to ligthen up the discussion a little, and I really thought that they were making fun, but really they weren't. Thankfully, it's all over now. Thank you so much for your concerns ;)

Do people have nothing more to do than accuse people of such stupid things like copying things? I read your discussion and never would have dreamed that you had copied that. It was too intimate, had too much detail. People that accuse others must feel guilty themselves, otherwise why would they even be thinking about it! Don't give this person the satisfaction of being hurt. Ignore it and focus your attention to your little one. Hope he is getting better and that things are getting better for you financially. I would let it go. He has apologized several times. I don't think he meant to be offensive. I think he was just joking about the length of the discussion. Sometimes when people are not using their native language things can come out different than they mean for them to. Heck, even when we're using the same language.

I guess you already know that the other member has also posted a discussion about this. My personal opinion is that the other member is just made what he thought was an innocent joke. However, this is an internet platform where most people don't have personal knowledge of each other and there are guidelines as to how to behave here. Even though his intent may not have been bad, his actions were completely wrong, at least in this venue.
In any event, I would simply ignore this person and move ahead here at Mylot. Thankfully, the socially ingracious don't out number those who are genuine and respectful.

A lot of people hate me and have no respect for me. I don't let it bother me. There are also people who think I am the most wonderful man in the world and I don't listen to them either because I know I am a jerk most of the time. I just don't live my life based on the approbation or rejection of others. Cheers!! He/she was probably just joking or maybe, that's how he/she does mylot. There are worse things.

guss- I don't understand why people waste their time going around mylot and spreading trouble when there are so many good things about mylot.
My feelings would be bruised and I would feel hurt and compelled to defend myself. You have nothing to defend against. Mylotters with good intentions don't post public messages accusing people of wrong doing.
It looks to me like the person apologized to you, a few comments down. This will all blow over and tomorrow, or even tonight, no one will remember.
For the record, I know you typed this message and I typed this one. Now, we'll let that all go or we'll all end up saying, "for the record"- wouldn't that be crazy?
Mylot is for friends, advice and fun, not demeaning comments. Sorry someone threw this accusation at you. No one believes it anyhow.

It's all better now, he apologized and said that he did not intentially try to hurt me or make me feel that way. I posted this message to hasty, in regards to another area of discussion from the other day about cheaters, mainly because of my feeling being hurt-- but it was several hours ago now, and all over.

I didn't do it!
Ok I know you knew that, I just wanted to make sure everybody else did. The site has been strange lately...I'm apparently in the wrong for discussing cheating here but everyone else is talking about it and accusing others with no problem. I don't get it.
I think some people here for whatever reason can't type long posts and think the average user can't either...so when they see a long post they automatically assume it must have been copied. Or perhaps the subject matter itself is something they know nothing about so they assume it's all lies.
It's unfortunate but it will happen here and you will get used to it.

LOL I was hoping you'd see this post. The other day when we were talking about the copy/paste issues, and the cheating-- I NEVER thought that I, myself, would be accused of that! There is no way in heck I could even find a post like mine that I posted to steal and take it as my own. Heck, if I could find someone with my same problems, I'd love to meet them and get advice.
But your right, I guess I'll get over it and use to it... I guess it's the risk we taken we posting here. Oh well, it did hurt my feelings though.

I believe you and for the record you will find some people that will jump into your discussions to reply and whether their kidding or not depending on how you see it they will ridicule and put down in any way possible. Just skip over that reply and move on to ones that you wish to answer. I have this done to me and I'm sure many others have it done to them. Don't let these kinds of people bother you. Your in here to have fun, keep on haveing fun don't worry about what others think. Good luck and take care. :)

That's actually great advice. I've been so lucky to not run into anything negative so far... and today the poster wasn't even trying to be mean, but I took it the wrong way. I'm glad he came back and apologized, because atleast I know that he really Wasn't trying to offend me.

Hello guss2000,
I thought this site was supposed to be a friendly site where you have friens and give advice ,take advice, laugh and cry and generally have fun. But what is happening here? there seem to be so many tittle tattle and people being rude to one another, some was rude to the other day and I was quite hurt it wasn't the first time and i have not been here long. Please don't worry let it go you have many friends here so just keep posting and have fun, you hear?

This site is full of support, and I have met sevearl great friends. THe person that I was posting about-- actually came back and apologized and I do know now that he didn't mean it the way that I took it. I feel bad now for even starting this discussion... but I have apologized to him too so I think it's all better now.

I wouldn't worry about what other people think. If you know that you didn't cheat then that is all that matters. People are going to think whatever they want to think anyway. Keep up the good work! Happy MyLotting!

Thanks ;) I honestly don't know of where I could find someone with a life similiar to mine to COPY off of. HUH! If anything, I should find a BETTER life to copy from. Instead, I keep my own life and live it to the best that I can.
The poster's response just struck me odd, and I wish he would have just skipped my message instead of being rude.

I am sorry to hear that, but some people are really jealous of other, like confusions, fights, are depressed, etc. I have been seeing in myLot many cases and do you know what I do? I just disregard, because I know I am not a psychiatrist, LOL. If people wants free psychiatrist is their problem. Just do not mind and keep your good work. Who cares about opinions, oh yeah I would say to this person pfffff
