Hello WATARIKENJI.
We use our ceiling fans almost every day in FL. We have six of them indoors and 1 outdoors on our lanai. They are a must to keeping cool and keeping the utility bills down where we live. We do not, however, own a table top fan of any kind.
We find that we don't need them with the ceiling fans.
Stay cool.

Tee hee, WATARIKENJI. No, my house is not a mansion at all. It is a rather small home. But it does have 3 bedrooms. In Florida, many of the houses, even the smaller ones, have ceiling fans in each room since the weather is so warm year round. That way, people can just flip a switch (almost like a light switch), to cool down.
Well, they say a man's/woman's home is his/her castle. And that's sort of the way me and my husband feel about our little piece of paradise here in Florida.

I have central air conditioning. I also use fans though when it is not hot enough for the AC. I have ceiling fans in the house. One of them is on right now. I aslo have a small fan in the kitchen that is running. They are easy to sell. My husband has sold five or six over the years. I think most people find fans useful.

We have air conditioning, but we use electric fans, too. We have the ceiling fans in every room and have a couple of free standing ones in our larger rooms. It does keep the air moving and makes things cool (or, at least, seem cooler) than just running the a/c constantly. In the spring and autumn when it's cooler out, we put window fans in all of the windows and can turn off the air conditioning, except in the hottest parts of the day.

It also supports the airconditioning and would help in power consumption.

We have several fans that we run at different times during the day and night. When the temp is not over 85 out side we rune a fan in the room we are in. We do have an AC but the fans are cheaper to run. Before I turn on the AC I run the central air fan to circulate the air through out the hose to keep it pretty cool. I usually don't have to turn on the air until later in the afternoon. I have a noisy fan that I run at night for noise as well as moving the air.

yes I use one in my studio. It is in our sun room and it gets hot and humid out there. I don't like to run the air conditioner out there cause it is a seperate unit than the house and runs up our electric bill. So when I am working in the studio I turn on the air long enough to cool it off then I use the fan and turn the ai conditioner off. I pour my ceramics in my studio so it has to be cooled off.

Yeah, we could set air cons at low cool when we have fans.

Hi watarikenji, before I hate using electric fan, because I thought I will experience hyperventilation.
But anyway, I just influenced by my best friend to use this. This best friend of mine, used to sleep in our house. And she is very addicted with electric fan, even it's hot or even raining. I can't bear that, and I can't fall asleep. But fortunately I used to it, for how many years now. I think 6 years now.
Well, here in our country, the weather is humid and I can't no longer sleep without a fan, and even my electric fan now is really need a replacement. I still love my electric fan after all.
Thanks for the post my friend. Happy myLot!

mialei23 instead of getting a new fan take the one you have apart and cleaning it then spray a little WD-forty oil in the motor. It should run like new. I do this every year and haven't had to buy a new fan for some years. I do this to even the plastic ones

I have a fan and an airconditioner in my house. I rarely use them together, it has to be one or the other hehe.
I remember the time back in my old apartment when I just had an electric fan and no aircon. There was only one window as I only rented a room in a huge apartment. So naturally it was so hot. It sucked when there would be power outage.
You can just imagine how uncomfortable that was considering I work the night shift and had to sleep during the day which was usually friggin hot.

an electric fan can make you more comfortable. i put one in the window and bring in air from outdoors and it makes the heat more tolerable. sometimes if the house has hot air inside and it's cooler outside the fan really cools off the room.

I agree. It circulates the air inside.

I am not at home enough o need to worry about the temperaure of my apartment. I like to go out to places that are air conditioned, so I don't hae to worry about the climate.

yes the electric fan is a necessity. i live in the tropics so it's like summer all year round. we've got the electric fan in all the rooms of my home. we've got ceiling fan, table fan, stand fan and even a industrial fan. the wind from the industrial fan is fantastic and can really cool a room down. i've got a ceiling fan in my room that i switch on when i sleep. i can't imagine how i will go to sleep if my fan ever breaks down. cheers ;p

We do have one ceiling fan at the living/receiving area.Since it is summer and the heat sometimes go as high as 44+
,i'll start turning the fan on before my son arrives from school.I don't think it is good to let sweating kid to enter a cold room immediately. After some time,i'll turn it off and make use of the air condition.

Hello. Yes we use electric fans. We three electric fans in our house. It's so hot here. One thing I don't like about electric fans is I get body aches or pain after exposure. Good day to you. :)
