I agree that Obama is causing more interest and excitement then we've seen in this country since John F. Kennedy ran for president. I'm actually glad that the press is giving Obama so much coverage because it's giving us the opportunity to finally hear what his plans are and what he stands for. I'm not happy with what I'm hearing from him lately and I hope that the voters in this country can get over their crush on him and vote on the issues in November.

Spalladino, I agree with you. Although I wish they would give more coverage to McCain, they are helping a little in letting people know what Obama stands for. And it also catches all those flip-flops from day to day and mis-statements. We have learned he is going to ruin us in taxes, and he will stop the Bush's tax cuts. The military will be brought home promptly, and the terrorists will then come to us. And I like his way of being president - he'll just call in a committee to make the decisions when he doesn't know what change he wants to make.
People have heard the word 'change' come out of his mouth, they aren't paying attention to the changes he's going to bring to us.We could be in for a long 4 years!

WATARIKENJI,
I would definitely agree that the US presidential campaign is one of the most exciting ones in our history. At least, in my lifetime, it's been one of the most interesting campaigns to watch. I was so hopeful and excited about Hillary and am truly sorry she isn't still in the race. Yet, Obama stands to make a real difference, should he become elected.

The most exciting in history? Well, I'm not sure about that. However, I would agree that this is the most interesting one in recent times. This is an election with many "First" (First woman, first black, first time we've had no president or vice-president running) and I think we have the two most interesting candidates in memory running for President.
Although everyone has been talking about Barak Obhama, I think John McCain is also interesting. The man is old and if elected could be one of the oldest men elected to the presidency since Ronald Regan in 1980. However, despite his age, McCain is an exceedingly feisty character and he's had a long history of speaking his mind. Unlike Bush and Clinton, McCain has actually fought in war and therefore has the credibility to take "tough" positions on certain foreign policy and security issues. McCain also has a reputation of taking on vested interest that have been regarded as his party's main supporters - think of campaign finance reform. A McCain Presidency could be very interesting.
I also think that the interest in Obhama is more than just media hype. Not only is his colour and age interesting - I think his "lack of experience" could be interesting. So far he's turned that into a strength and managed to wage a very disciplined and successful campaign. He would also make an interesting president.
I think what's interesting of the candidates is that neither of them are from established political families (Bush, Clinton) and both are considered outsiders to their party main streams. What could this do? Well, I for one think that both men could bring a fresh approach to tackling some of the more pressing issues like security and terrorism as well as the current problems in the economy. Let's see how they present their cases for the presidency.

Hi Tiger.Nice to have you here. Its a good analysis. Very well said.Would you say that it would be a close fight? Something like the Thrilla in Manila of Ali and Frazier.

Well this election is very exciting for me because YAY we are finally getting rid of Bush! It is also very interesting because the conservatives in this country do not have someone to vote for. McCain is more of Democrat than he lets on but I don't agree with most of his views on war. So yes it is very exciting, but the US is still full of hate and racism so I'm unsure of how the election will play out. I'm sure we will have another 4 years of Bush opps I mean McCain.

I will cry too. I'm sick of the high gas and food prices! I'm sure that the rest of the world is as well.

No, I do not think this is the most exciting election in history. In fact, it leaves lots to be desired. The candidates that would have been the best for our country have dropped out or run out. We are left with only two choices, neither of whom are my choice. I believe the media has pandered to Obama, never giving McCain a chance. The TV stations, except for Fox News, are sending their hosts to Iraq with Obama, but they never sent one with McCain as many times as he has gone. It's sort of a one way street for the Media who seem to be going all gong ho for Obama as though he IS already chosen, which he isn't. Yes, I agree, the election is going to have a great impact on Americans, and I pray the wrong one doesn't get in and make changes that you can't live with. For me, I pay enough in taxes! And I think that the estate taxes and capital gains tax are already too high but Obama wants to increase them. What happened to Americans ability to make money and be able to put some back for a rainy day?

Hi, Its sad to hear that. I just hope that the media wont go to far to feast on it. We are talking of a country's future here. The electorate should be vigilant. Taxes are really killing us.
