Read the personal testimony of a man who was a prisoner of war with John McCain. http://www.herald-mail.co... After reading this, I feel much better about voting for John McCain. How about you?

But if one add this store to a long list of other reason to vote for McCain and McCain is becoming better everyday. I must say though it does sound like we are trying to find reasons to vote for McCain. Remember the William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears, I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him. This could be rewriten to say: Friend, Republicans, American, lend me your ears, we have come to vote for McCain, not to praise him.

redyellowblackdog (2844) | 1 month ago | Well, yes, but this guy praised John McCain's leadership and example of character while a POW. Myself, if they had me as a prisoner, I'd not done nearly as well as John McCain did after being tortured. He seems to have come out of it a better person. I think it would have destroyed me. John McCain has been tested under as high of stress as is possible and passed the test. What has Obama done other than be a wuss? John McCain's experience has shown he can still perform under the maximum preasure anyone is possible of experiencing.

2. speakeasy (1120) | 1 month ago | Being the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces is only part of the job of a US President; but, if you were serving in our Armed Forces 24/7 365 days a year; would you rather have someone who has served in combat zones and even been a POW in charge; or, would you rather have a spoiled brat who never served a single day in his life and has only paid short token visits to some of the safest locations in combat areas in charge of you, your unit, and even your families. A man who has been there and done these things; knows how these experiences affect both our troops and their families here at home. He knows what is important to them. He knows that you do sometimes have to send in the troops; but, he also knows what those same troops are capable of and what they need in the way of support to help them complete their mission. He doesn't have to rely on the word of others, who are trying to pad their own pockets, about what the troops need and what they don't need. John McCain knows what is realistic and what is not. He does not make promises that would be disasterous to try to keep JUST because they MIGHT be popular and get him elected. IF John McCain changes his mind about how to get something done; it is because the facts he is aware of have actually changed; not, because he flew in, shook hands and talked AT a bunch of people for an hour or two, and is now talking to a different group of people. This testimony helps confirm my feelings that John McCain can do the job much better than Obama. I do feel that there are other people better qualified for the job than John McCain; BUT, THEY aren't running for the office!

redyellowblackdog (2844) | 1 month ago | I see this man's testimony concerning John McCain to be a testimony as to his strength of character. This is an attribute necessary for all aspects of the job of being President. That said, Obama as CIC could be a disaster for the world as well as the USA.

speakeasy (1120) | 1 month ago | It's amazing isn't it; that Obama is receiving "endorsements" by countries like Iraq and Iran. Why would our "enemies" be endorsing one of OUR candidates unless they thought it would benefit their own country. Obviously, they feel that Obama would be a weak, ineffective leader and that THEY would profit by Obama being in charge!

3. Destiny007 (3277) | 1 month ago | I bet he votes for McCain too. I wonder how well that mealy-mouthed Clark would have held up under those circumstances, but the better question is how well would Obama have done in those conditions... McCain is definitely the more electable of the two. We know his history... what do we really know about Obama?

redyellowblackdog (2844) | 1 month ago | Since you brought up Clark, I'd like to remind people that it is "Disgraced 4 star General Clark who was relieved of his command of NATO." This should always be mentioned when Clark's name comes up. Why was he relieved? Clark ordered a British General under his command to attack some Russian forces. That General immediately got in touch with his government after refusing to follow the order. After some exchanges of information back and forth, Clark's command of NATO was terminated early. The news reports at the time covered it up pretty well by only reporting that Clark was being 'transfered' out of command early. Fact is, the fool almost single handedly started a major war. No one should listen to him about anything.

4. sndcain36 (229) | 4 weeks ago | Clark is a traitor and a pu$$y. I really really hate him. I get emails from his PAC and I cannot believe the utter tripe and garbage he spouts off. McCain has the qualities of REAL leadership. He's not just talking the talk. Obama can make speeches; whoopdie friggin do. I'm sure we can eat the paper his speeches are written on when our country is in ruins.

redyellowblackdog (2844) | 4 weeks ago | In a different forum a long time ago, I got to read the comments of an Army officer who served with Clark. In that Officer's opinion Clark was an excellant officer through the rank of Colonol. However, after he made 1 star general he really was not up to it. Clark looked as if his career was over until a very lucky thing happened for Clark. His old buddy he had known for years became President. Bill Clinton saw to it his long time friend continued to be promoted. That is the story of how someone clearly not fit to be a 4 star general got command of NATO. See my comment above for more info about how that went.

5. Adoniah (1734) | 4 weeks ago | I just had the dubious priviledge of reading 2 of Obama's books. Even if I had not already decided who I was going to vote for, they certainly helped the decision along. I had already read a similar article somewhere else about Mcain's leadership abilities under duress. That is a good judge of character. Mccain just needs to communicate his plans and issues better with the public and not be so afraid to take a stand. Obama is starting to outrun him and will continue to do so if he does not stand up for himself. Shalom~Adoniah
