legalized murder |
|
Well, I bet that subject line caught your attention. I'd like to know what people out there think about the subject of abortion. Are you pro-choice or pro-life?? I'm just going to state my opinion straight out and simple, I think that abortion in any form, and at any stage of pregnancy is legalized murder, under any circumstance. Since when is it someone else's right to say whether or not someone can live or die, I believe that should be Gods decision, and we're playing with some serious fire if we begin to make these life altering and/or life ending decisions by ourselves. What do you think?

2. Wolfechu (821) | 3 months ago | I'm pro-choice, in that I think it's no business of mine to dictate what people can or can't do to their own bodies. I'm also not overly keen on the idea of the return to backstreet abortion clinics with no standards of hygeine or practice if it ever did become illegal. I leave god out of the abortion equation entirely. I'm thoroughly convinced he doesn't exist in the first place, so if I turn out to be wrong, my stance on abortion is going to be the least of his issues with me.

| elsalvadorian05 (4) | 3 months ago | I think that this is a co-out, and really saying that it's ok to murder, and putting the responsability for our choices on God, when really He gave us free will, and wants us to freely choose what the right thing is to do, He's compassionate, and not some big bully like you've been told, and then made your decision that He's not there. What do you believe is there? I mean that honestly, I'm not being vindictive, I really would like to know.

Wolfechu (821) | 3 months ago | What do I believe is there? Well, where's 'there', for one thing? The universe? Something outside? Heaven, Hell, Ipswich? I really don't believe in God; it's not solely down to the Christian Mythos, but instead a universe around us which doesn't require a God to exist; he's not only not there, he doesn't need to be there. I suppose that answers that one, too; I don't think there's anything 'there' instead. There doesn't need to be something to fill that god-shaped. There's not even a hole. Consider this, though: You've come to the conclusion that any form of murder is wrong because God says so; I've come to my own morality through personal experience. Who's more moral, the person who takes responsibility for his viewpoints, or the one who has to be told what's right and wrong?

| elsalvadorian05 (4) | 3 months ago | I believe that everyone has accountability for themselves, and that everyone is responsible for there own choices. If in this case in which you think that we shouldn't be telling women what to do with their bodies, then using your logic, is it ok for someone just to randomly come up to you and shoot you in the middle of a crowded room???? How can all that's in this world simply exist from nothing???

3. renitaperrone (306) | 3 months ago | Wow! You like to start off with a bang, don't ya! lol I will say that I totally agree with you. However, what I think is really really sad is that our society leads people to believe that it is not a "baby" but just a "fetus" or a "blob of tissue" and not that it's a tiny little baby, perfectly formed usually before a woman even knows she is pregnant. There is no other surgery they would allow a minor to have without parental permission, but they perform millions of abortions every year on minors without any parent even knowing. It IS surgery and thus should require the same policy as any other surgery. I once took a class to volunteer at a Pregnancy Alternatives Clinic that offered non-abortion alternatives. What I learned about abortion is a horrific sight that will never leave me. So, although I am absolutely against it, I do not condemn those who have had one because I know that they have been totally misinformed. And, it is not my place to judge. Had I been caught in an unwanted pregnancy as a teenager, I might have done the same thing because I didn't know then what I know now. God bless!

| gncd68 (12) | 3 months ago | I agree, I think abortion is completely wrong, it is murder, let me ask anyone out there this, If it is just tissue, how does it ever form into life? If there is a problem with the baby, normally nature takes it course and the woman has a miscarriage. If I am sounding like I am judgemental, I don't mean to sound that way. But there are many women out there who say, it's my right, it's my body, well GOD gave you that body, God gave women the most powerful gift in the world, we bring life into the world, something a man can't do (no offense to all the guys out there)and i bet wouldn't want to do. And some women talk as if aborting a baby is, well it's just their right, well you wouldn't have any choices like that if your mother would have decided to abort you. All those innocent little souls never even given a chance to take their first breath of air, never a chance to maybe grow up and be the next president or whatever. I do know that for some women who make this decision it's a heart wrenching decision, but I feel there is an option-adoption, there are many women who can't have children and would love to be a mother. Gods Blessings to all

| gncd68 (12) | 3 months ago | I am totally against abortion, but as renitaperrone says, I don't judge women who have done it. The only thing I can say is, there are people out there who say it's only tissue, well if it's ONLY tissue, it wouldn't turn into life. Nature has it's way of taking it's course when it comes to a problem with the baby-miscarriages. I wonder if all the women that have had abortions and say "It's my right, it's my body", well they wouldn't be here to give their opinion if their mothers had aborted them, thinking the same thing "it's my right, my body" Women need to realize that when a baby is conceived it is life, it has rights, just because it's not here in this world yet and can't completely communicate it doesn't mean that the fetus doesn't have rights. I believe there are women and young girls who really feel they don't have any options and maybe got pregnant under bad circumstances, but there is adoption and there are so many married couples who can't have children and would love to adopt one. I just know that my children are my world and I know they are a gift from God and am so glad I was never put in a circumstance where I had to make the tough decision, but If I had been I would hope I would opt for adoption. Gods Blessings to any girl or woman who has had to make that decision.

4. pheonixstar1982 (793) | 3 months ago | I am pro-choice to a point. I believe i have no right to tell a person what to do with the bodies and why bring a child into an over populated world if the mother has no means to take care of the child. Yes there is adoption but not every child gets adopted. Personally i could never have an abortion even if i knew i could not take care of the child i know members of my family would help me out. Now partial birth abortions i am totally against.

renitaperrone (306) | 3 months ago | I know what you mean, pheonixstar. When I did training for a pregnancy alternatives center that was anti-abortion, the pictures I saw made me literally ill. Perfectly formed babies aborted just days before the due date, etc. That is cruel and inhumane and totally beyond uncalled for. My only consolation is my belief that these innocent souls are in heaven with God.

5. tessah (2100) | 3 months ago | i think its a personal decision one way or the other really. i myself couldnt abort my own child regardless of the circumstances of their conception. the only way i would consider it, would be if my life were threatoned by not doing it.. and only because i have two children that need their mommy.

renitaperrone (306) | 3 months ago | I agree that in the case of the life of the mother being at risk should be an exception for the very reason you stated - other kids depending on you! I don't know what I'd do if that happened. But since I'm done having kids, I don't think that will be a concern for me. I'd sure hate to ever have to make that choice though.

6. dmcollie (178) | 3 months ago | when sperm meets the egg at that moment there is life. It doesnt mater how or when they got pregnant. It is murder plain and simple. There are other choices out there. I do not believe in abortion.

7. Ruthep (3311) | 3 months ago | I am pro-choice. There are lots of things that people do and I don't believe God had a hand in it. Cosmetic surgery, artificial insemination, heart surgery, basically anything to do with medicine is done by someone's hands and someone is making the decision.

| elsalvadorian05 (4) | 3 months ago | It's nice to support people making their own choices and all, but I'm sure if we informed the people making the "decision" to end someones life that isn't there own, then maybe they'd reconsider, and I only bring God into this because He is the giver of life, and that is what I believe.

| elsalvadorian05 (4) | 3 months ago | No, we humans decided to have those babies killed, it was those peoples decisions, not Gods poor choices, He did not stop it because He wanted us to have free will. I started this in the chicken category because, well I don't know, it was an accident really, and I don't even know how it happened. Saved by grace and proud.

10. patriciaqualls (1123) | 3 months ago | I am so against abortion!!!! There are so many people out there that want a baby so bad but can't have one. I just dont understand that. I think adoption is a better chioce. No matter what week you are in in a pregnancy it is still human life!!! I can't imagine people think that it is just a fetus.

| elsalvadorian05 (4) | 3 months ago | Most of the times it's scared teenage girls, or women in their early early twenties, who have been given information by someone who is pro-choice, and trying to get them to commit murder.

|
|
patriciaqualls (1123) | 3 months ago | Yes I do agree with you. It is so much better to adopt the baby out if you don't want to keep the baby. I really wish that would be everyone's only option no matter what age they are. Babies are a gift from God! We are all put on this earth for a reason I believe. Have a good day!
