Which one do we need more, Nuclear or Windmills.

I think windmills is the best choice. The last thing we need is anymore nuclear waste.

You can get residential windmills and assemble them yourselves. I understand this would not work for people living in cities are apartments, but those in rural area could take advantage of this.

india is a big country.
we have been using windmills for the last many years and also the nuclear fuel for useful purposes. we can not restrict ourselves to one kind of fuel since the availability of the fuel is restricted. and so the wind power is not suitably available throughout.
we have to have the right mix.

I would go for wind mill eventhough its production is limited, since I don't want any hazardous nuclear wastes to be dumped in Third world countries like India.we have all sorts wastes shipped to my country from developed countries. this is the last thing I want in my country.I would prefer anything clean and green .

For me I would prefer windmills and solar power. They are always in abundance, and the safest and cleanest in my opinion. I would buy a solar powered car, if someone invented one. Nuclear is clean, but very dangerous and risky in my opinion. I would rather not have nuclear power near me.

I would go with nuclear. We cannot use the land on which windmills stand, so that would be taking land out of production and I am sure that if we built them on waste land, the environmentalists wlll get mad that some of the animals and birds will lose their homes and the natural order of things would be destroyed.
With nuclear plants, we have the plants already built so it is a simple matter to set up safe guards ids, finger print, and retina recognition, etc. for the employees so the bad guys do not get in. There are ways to get rid of the waste.
We need to keep more land in production now that those ethanol people have taken so much of corn production out of food production.

i think windmills is still the best choice for a solar energy because it is nature friendly and do not cause pollution. unlike the the nuclear power energy, the windmills is not dangerous to the people surrounding it...

I have lost confidence in many of the people who make decision for this country. There are a lot of way in which we should be fashioning ourselves in the likes of France...including their health care system.

I have heard there have been advances in nuclear energy production that make it cheaper and safer. However, none of these better plants have been built in the USA. I'm for building nuclear now.

I think a combination of wind, solar and water power is the answer, depending on local conditions. Sunny places can have many solar panels, windy places have wind turbines and in other regions waves and running water can be harnessed to make power. All these are sustainable sources of energy.

I know people object to wind farms in their locality but would they rather have a nuclear plant nearby. How many parents would want their children growing up near a radio-active power plant?

The British government has decided that nuclear fuel is the answer but I would propose that the first new power station to be built is in the locality of Prime Minister Gordon Brown's family home, and see if he still thinks it such a good idea.
