what do you think of children shows these days? |
|
is there any show that you absolutely will not let your children watch? if so why I won't let them watch Barney and friends I just don't like it. I also won't let him watch that new show yo gabba gabba, i believe it's really weird and it brain washes your kids into remembering stuff, they repeat stuff over and over and it's not very educational. now with all of that being said would you ever write to the TV. network to tell them to stop airing the show or to try to get them to stop.

1. kezabelle (1982) | 3 months ago | Yes but children learn through repetition dont they! They learn to count through hearing numbers repeated same concept really and nothing wrong with it in my opinion. Unless its really violent i dont ban them from watching anything as I feel they can have the chance to choose what they watch or not, my children are very bright and arent brain washed into learning, its all about balance for the 20 minutes they watch yo gabba gabba they then spend another 8=12 hours talking properly with me or friends etc moderation is the key

2. highlyclever (370) | 3 months ago | We do not like shows for our young children that have any sort of bad language or bad manners. (By bad language, I do not simply mean foul words; I mean anything that comes across rudely or disrespectfully.) Being impressionable, the children pick up very easily on language and behavior from the shows that they watch and are prone to repeat it. We do let them watch shows like Super Why, Dora the Explorer, Diego, Ni-Hao Kai-lan, Sesame Street, Between the Lions, and shows of this nature.

4. saundyl (2289) | 3 months ago | I dont have kids but i watch the kids shows with my cousins little girl. I honestly dont think i'd let my own kids (if i had any) watch as much tv as my katie gets to watch. The shows she watches tend to be gibberish and not nearly as hmmm "good" as i remember shows i watched when i was a kid being. Sure there aren't a lot of kids shows with violence in them but..they tend to hide reality a bit too much. I used to love a show called raccoons and it used have messages about protecting the environment and nature in it. I'd never write to a network and demand that they take a show off of tv.

I try to switch channels before it comes on but sometimes I'm not paying enough attention, once it starts he stands there mesmorized. The "party in my tummy" song is really creepy! Wouldn't you be scared if your food talked to you!? I also don't like Barney, Sponge Bob, Power Rangers and wow wow wubzy.

6. deemazing (136) | 3 months ago | Yo Gabba Gabba has got to be the worst attempt at a tv show I've ever seen, let alone a children's show! I don't have children, but I have many nieces and nephews. I would definitely write a bad review. That show is horrible, and "yo gabba gabba" how is that even English? All I ever see is a bunch of dancing fools on that show. TV shows now are very uneducational for the most part. I do see a few great shows, though, such as Dora The Explorer, Arthur, etc. But for the most part, children's shows aren't any good in my opinion. I have my nieces and younger nephews watch my old Kid Songs videos from when I was a child and my old Disney Sing-A-Longs. They love them! Those were shows that kept a child sitting still for a while.

8. Rzelikman (119) | 3 months ago | I am not too familiar with the kids shows today. I sure I will be soon as my daughter is growing. However, I am very disappointed in the way the cartoons have changed over the year. They have become very violent and different. When I was growing up they had the best cartoons like tome and jerry, flinstones, jetsons etc. The cartoons today are also automated and not drawn. THey just keep making them worse and worse. I can't imagine what will happen in the next few years. Its a very scary thought. They should really do something about it. You can even tell that kids are different these days too compared to a few years ago. The language and the violence, gee I wonder where they get it from.

9. mrghill (1383) | 3 months ago | Kids are an empty-paged "book" ready to be written in at a young age, I remember my son at the age of three could remember every word verbatim to the Disney Movie "Pinocchio". Then he would remember the lines in most of the cartoons he wold watch. Before he filled his "book" with too much garbage, I started teaching him words from the dictionary. To my surprise at age ten, he was able to remember most of the words he learned when he was three without much repetition.

10. vaishalik (202) | 3 months ago | There are so many shows especially for children like educational, cartoon, animal shows & so many. Then why we should let them see the shows with bad impression on them. Some shows are really not good for childrren. They learn bad things quickly, pick up & repeat bad language & bad actions. Also we must pay proper attention for what they are watching.
