This is my first year actually growing corn. Now how many ears does one stalk produce usually? I have a few stalks with just one ear formed and only one with 2 ears formed. Some think I know all about gardening but this shows that I don't. Thanks in advance all. I can't wait to pick these and roast a bunch on the BBQ grill. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I honestly have no idea. Ours are getting pretty tall and starting to tassel, but no ears of corn from what I have seen yet. I can't wait to be able to pick it!

When I went to my cousins reunion my sisters told me that had stopped and my oldest sister actually went out into a field of corn to see how many grew on each stalk......two was the norm....I always thought there were way more!

Good question there. Wish I could help you out but afraid I know nothing. All I know is when I helped my mother pick ears of corn at times when I visited her and she cooked up a bunch for the freezer we sometimes would find one or two and other times we might find a few. It seems like the ones with more on them had almost one per leaf on the stalk.

all i know is "knee high by the forth of july" and then a have a little corn story. a friend was riding in a car with other friends and for fun they threw out some corn seeds in front of a house. a long time later they drove by to check it out and a stalk was growing. the owners had mowed the grass around it but spared the corn stalk. then checked on it later and there were ears of corn on it. they'd say to themselves that the home owner had no idea where the corn came from.
