I had been. I never lifted a new born baby with much ease until 3 years ago. I was afraid to lift the baby.I felt that holding the baby with its head given full support was something which needs some training. I was bit tensed whenever I lifted a new born baby. Only after my son was born, I lost this fear.I lifted my son on the same day without any fear. I think that is the motherhood. I never had any fear or uneasiness while lifting him.And then I found that it does not need any practice. Have you ever been afraid to lift a new born baby?

I have always been afraid of lifting newborn babes. As someone said ' you think something might break ' and indeed it appears so.
They are so delicate and it always seems the mothers lift them so naturally.
Its something I prefer to stay away from.

yeah before I had my own. Then you realize that they are not as fragile as you think. Have you ever seen how a doctor treats a baby after it is born. LOL!

Yes, I could not lift my newborn kids until they were 3 months-I just think, new borns are too delicate to be lifted by inexperienced people-especially young fathers!

The new born baby is just so small and so frail. I am afraid I might hurt him when lifting. It's not like lifting a pet at all!
