Yes, it is true.
Once in a while, someone does write a fair article exaimining both sides of an issue. Here's one here.

This article compares B. Hussein Obama vs John (Grandpa Simpson) McCain. Both candidates are given a fair shake. The advantages and disadvantages of both are discussed. I recommend this article for everyone seriously concerned about this election.
Did you find anything unfair in the article? Untrue? Was there anything you thought out of line?
What do you say?

Actually, I thought it was a very good article. The only problem is that it points out that Obama is considered "likeable"; and people have been elected to public office before because of "likeability" regardless of how well qualified they are or not.
Sometimes that works out OK - Ronald Reagan; and, sometimes it doesn't - Adolf Hitler.

Yes, I thought it was an unusually good article. It was fair to both candidates. It showed strengths and weaknesses for both. It is what the media news is supposed to do.

Well, that is not always possible. If they are reporting about a specific incident or statement, they do not normally go ask the other person for their opinion nor do they list the number of times a political opponent has done the same thing or made a statment on the same subject.
An example is the reporting on Obama's recent trip to Iraq. If they are reporting about Obama's trip, they SHOULD be going over the details of the trip and people's reactions to his trip and comments/speeches he made on the trip. Including information about past trips made by Hilary or McCain are really not pertinent to the item being reported; those trips should have been reported when they occurred.
This article was specifically a comparison of the two candidates; so parity is expected and, in this case, it was delivered..

You're not going to believe this, but I liked it, I really, REALLY liked it! Seriously, you're right, that is an example of news analysis as it is supposed to be. I didn't detect any bias either way from the writer and that is so rare I thought it had become non-existent this year. Thank you for sharing it.

One would think serious people from both sides would find this article useful. Hopefully, people in the media will catch on people like to be challenged mentally and be given the opportunity to make up their own minds. It is nice not to read 'spin' that assumes you are stupid and can be tricked into voting for one side or the other.

You're absolutely right. We, the voters, are not stupid nor are we too lazy to take the time to read quality articles such as this one. We all get into our heated debates and discussions here on myLot and on other similar forums but I never take anything personal and I certainly never have any hard feelings for someone from the "other side" of any issue. I like to be able to read or listen and watch about the issues, without the spin as you said and with attacks by the writer or commentator on either candidate. It really is possible to support one candidate without despising the other or others.
