Do You Remember Royal Lunch Milk Crackers? |
|
One of my clients mentioned a few months back that she loved Nabisco's Royal Lunch Milk Crackers. She was dismayed that she had been unable to find them. I did look for them whenever I went shopping. Going online, I found that these wonderful crackers were no longer being made by Nabisco. When I told my 94-year old client she was disappointed. On Monday I went shopping for another client at a supermarket that I never shop at. I found a milk biscuit that looked similar to the Royal Lunch Milk Crackers. It was a bit expensive, $4.49 for the box. The name brand is "Mrs. Alison's Milk Lunch New England Biscuits." These biscuits are the closest thing I had found to the milk crackers. I purchased them for my client. I thought to myself that if she didn't want them I would bring them home. She wasn't feeling well today. Tummy was upset over what she believed was the orange juice she drank for breakfast. Her mind is a little mixed up and she thought the juice was bad because of something she heard on the television. This report was something she told me about last year. I sighed because this is the norm for her. Dementia is cruel. She wasn't going to eat anything, but I convinced her to have a few of the crackers and a nice cup of tea. She agreed to the light lunch. The crackers she told me tasted much better than the Royal Lunch Milk Crackers. She thanked me again for purchasing them for her. She paid me for the crackers, although she was surprised they cost so much. She did say that at her age if she wanted to spend more money on something she liked she should be able to do so. If you are looking for a replacement for the much enjoyed milk crackers give "Mrs. Alison's Milk Lunch New England Biscuits" a try. They are made in Canada for the Archway company. I found them a the local Stop and Shop.

1. OceanTiara (596) | 4 weeks ago | Hello Dear Elusive My former Mother in Law(rip) loved those. They are available well, I am not sure what brand, but the Royal something or other crackers at the Market Basket here in MA. I used often pick them up for her and she would nibble on them like a little mouse. xoxoxooxo

2. GardenGerty (13064) | 4 weeks ago | I will have to look at the Archway display at our local stores. I have not heard of milk crackers, or lunch crackers. I overheard a woman in Dillons yesterday, when her husband asked her what kind of crackers she wanted, she told him that she wanted "Oh, some tea crackers." Hubby was still puzzled.

3. sid556 (4781) | 4 weeks ago | I do remember these but had forgotten all about them...they were not a favorite of mine but we always seemed to have them in the house growing up. If I was really hungry i'd put peanut butter on them. they were so bland. I kind of remember my mom putting them in milk with blueberries??? I was really young the last time I saw those...can still remember the purple bos. haven't seen them in years.

ElusiveButterfly (8464) | 3 weeks ago | I prefer a light and buttery flavor to the heavily flavored and oversalted ones that are on the market today.

6. creativedreamweaver (3957) | 4 weeks ago | My mom used to give me those Royal Lunch Milk Crackers, when I was sick, which was a lot when I was a kid. Maybe I just wanted the cookie's, lol. I had no idea that they weren't being made anymore. In fact, I'd forgotten all about them until this post, lol. Thanks for a neat memory of my Mom. I'll have to try the Mrs. Allison ones. Archway is a pretty good company, so I've no doubt they will be quality. Thanks for this information.
