Who knows... there could be a stash of cash we've forgotten about in our glove compartments ...if we never clear them out we can keep that possibility!

I wonder if they keep boots in it? :) And for the original question, I'm sure I also have about everything but gloves in my glove compartment. Sunglasses tend to be the most important accessory in it.

Yes, we have 'boots' instead of trunks. In winter, I do keep boots in there. Do you keep elephants in your trunks... or maybe lifeguards - either could be interesting!!

I assume the space was originally for gloves and that they would have been needed in the early days of motoring because they were always having to get out and turn the starter handle or check under the bonnet (hood?). I suppose a lot of them didnt have hard tops or proper windows and wouldn't have had heaters so the drivers hands would get cold.

Makes sense to keep the gloves with the tools. Of course, you wouldn't be drinking the beer if you were driving would you.....

No I wouldn't, but sometimes I go to places where I have no supermarket nearby. Like my brother in laws fruit plant. Then the beer cans coming quite handy. :)

During the colder weather this year, I found that fingerless woollen gloves are fine for driving ;o)
