How often do you get studio portraits of you or your children?

Do you do this yearly, twice a year, once every few years, never? We do family portraits annually around Christmas (and make cards from them too) but I've realized it's been awhile since I did any just for me. I usually do them every year for my daughter as well, last year she got her first school ones from preschool but I like the way studio ones come out better than the school ones, which are just a headshot and often the photographer does not have time to make sure they come out good lol.
Would you do it more often if the cost wasn't an issue?

Yep, Christmas time each year even though the kids take them at school as well.
I think when they were little I would do it more often if cost wasn't an issue, but I have now so many portraits that I am not sure anymore. I don't even know where I could find space for them if I did more often :)
Plus I think once a year is enough to kind of see the difference how they are growing and changing as they get older.

I suppose i should be ashamed, its been 10 years since we have had a decent family portrait done. But in some way I think that is okay, my 2 older boys are married and having their own families, so its their time, their turn. Nana and Pops are content to be in snapshots in the back ground now :)))

I don't do this as often as i would like to do. i do plan on taking my kids and my step-son to get a family picture done in a few weeks. I never did that before and i just thought It would be a great idea to have all the children together. something I would love and I know my mother in law would love it even more

I do not get studio family portraits done, as they are too expensive and plus I do not have pictures on my walls yet as I still have to decorate.
When I want photos of all my brood I tend to just take them myself, so much can be done to a photo these days and so if I want them blown up bigger I can get this done myself.

We have a family portrait taken once.
It's beautiful. That's the only portrait
that we are complete. I love it.
