From the ages of 4 to 16 I lived in one particular city. When I was 14 we moved to a different house 3 miles away from our first one. So ten years in one house is the longest I've lived in one home, and twelve years is the longest I've ever lived in one particular city. But I'm going on eleven years in the city I live in currently.

Hiya! Along the lines of your experience actually.^_^ Lived in this house for about 6 years now. Lived in this city for 18 years and I think this is where Ill die(something like that). Havent traveled much. Never been out of the country and only had the chance to go out of town 4 times in those 18 years. Thats boring.^_^

There's nothing wrong with that. The only reason I can say
I've been out of the Country is because I've been lucky
enough to visit Canada about 8 times. I just love it there!

yeah there is really nothing wrong with that but it gets monotonous at times. Ive just been in this city all of my life. I dont even 'master' the neighboring towns yet but then again, I am a homebody and dont really go out much.^_^

The longest time in one place has been thirty years for us,we spent the first thirty years of marriage in a little town in Wiltshire,it wasnt boring, but lol I knew virtually everyone that lived there!and in actual fact I was very glad to move and have a change of scenery, the Debyshire dales are equally as pretty,so we havent forsaken all of the scenery!

i used to love moving around when i was younger, b4 me and hubbt got married we would move a lot.. i think because my parents moved us around a lot that i loved to do it as i grew up..
my house i own now is a house we rented for 5 years then moved on from here then 5 years later we came up here and brought this house lol so i knew everyone here and most are still here so its a great street and i love my house as its old but very updated and its a house that people walk into and they sat straight of that they feel so relaxed and comfy here..

I think the longest amount of time I lived in one place was almost 7 years. That was when I moved back home after my divorce. I've lived in this area for the last 22 years, but not in the same house. I've been in this house now almost 4 years, and I'm NOT moving again!!!

Wow...this is actually a hard one b/c I've moved so much...the longest place would have been with my ex b/f. We were together for 9 years, 3 of them in one place and 6 of them in the house we were buying. They weren't very happy years but that's the longest I've lived in one place. The next longest was way back when I was born, my Mom and Dad lived in their house for 5 years (moved in the year I was born) until they divorced when I was 5. The rest of the years was 3 years or less. Hubby and I have lived in our apartment for 2 1/2 years now and have no plans of moving.

Hi Opal, The longest I have ever lived in the same place was as a child and that was for 10 years othere than that I don't think I have lived anywhere up until recently for longer than two years, my current home I have been in two and a half years but I do intend staying here for a good few years yet so hopefully it will overtake my childhood one eventually, but have been pretty nomadic up til now really. Ellie :D

Well I have lived in the same city and state for 20 years, my whole life. I have lived in the house that I am in for about 7 years now. Before that I lived in a couple of houses, that was when I was younger. I don't really like to move around a whole lot.

One place as in one house or just one area? I lived in Washington state for about 23 years, between the ages of 4 1/2 and 27. I think that's 23 years. I think I was in one house for about 5 years, then moved to the one my parents still own and was there from the time I was about 10 till I moved out when I was 20, so ten years there. After that I still lived in the same area and had an apartment until I was 22 (2 years), then I got married and my ex and I lived in the same area in one home for oh... 2 years. Then we stayed in the same area and bought a new house. We were there for about 4-5 years before I moved out and divorced him. I have since relocated and have been in CA for over 5 years. I expect to stay here at least another 10 years, I like it here much better than I ever did in WA.

Well I guess I'm just as boring as you are..LOL. While I was born in Garden Grove Calif, my parents got divorced when I was only a year and a half old...so my mother came to "home base" that is came back to live with her grandmother, and mother in Jackson Hts, Queens. When I was about five and a half my grandmother, mother and I moved to this apt in which I now still live (both are now deceased)--so been living here in the same place for 47 years. Wouldn't mind moving though but rents are ridiculous

Hi Opal26.
I lived in my parents' home from birth to age 18 when I went away to college. I was gone only 6 months, then returned to the same town, where I lived for 25 years, before moving to a different town. I did live in different homes during that 25 years though. So, I guess my answer is 18 years in my parents' house!

We've been living in our place since 1989 and therefore it is already 19 years of stay. We transferred to that house after obtaining it through a housing loan and now we can really call it our own. I love my place... it is a safe and peaceful place so far except for some unruly neighbors who would drink and sing during the night... I have so far been very contented with the place of my abode. I always look forward to going home at night. To me there is no place like home.

the longest time i have lived in one place is from 1989 to 2007 so 18 years, before that i lived in a different area and i left to live up north for uni!! I think that's quite a long time, kind of wish i'd stayed but onwards and upwards and all that!! I don't think it's boring staying in the same place, i think it's nice to be around friends and family and in familiar surroundings, you always know what you're getting!! xxx

i could never imagine being in the same place for as long as you have. I grew up as a military brat and now I am a military spouse, LOL! I thin the longest I have ever lived in the same place is no more than 3 years and I don't think I would want to change that. I love to travel to new places and meet new people.

I'm kidding. As long
as you're happy it doesn't matter where you live. With me as long
as it finally feels like "home" that's all that matters.
