Remember the lady who sued McDonalds for HOT coffee she spilled? Well now thanks to a law firm in in Florida it may get easier to sue.Beginning next month, anyone with access to the Internet should be able to log onto WhoCanISue.com. The new website plans to help consumers determine whether they actually have a case. Do you think this will become popular? http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1829725,00.html

I am sure it will become popular as there are bound to be at least some sue-happy people out there. But, I do believe, that lawmakers should do something about frivolous lawsuits. At the time of the McDonalds incident, I said so. Yes, the lady might have been hurt by she was handed hot coffee. She spilled it and she should take ownership of the accident. There is too many people with an incentive to find someone else to blame for their life's problems, enticing more people to be lawsuit junkies seems to be harmful.

Well I for one will think every one will be checking that site out and the lawsuits in this country will be going up a good percentage because of it. Have you checked it out?

I'm not in support of frivalous lawsuits, by any means. Having studied as a Paralegal, I've seen every kind of frivalous lawsuit known to mankind. People sue over the silliest things. You'd be surprised. Like the burglar/robber who broke his foot in his victims kitchen, when the floor board collapsed under his foot as he was sneaking into the house in the dark to rob the people. He sued the homeowner for his injuries, even though he is the one who had broken into the house to rob/hurt the homeowners. Can you believe that? With that being said, there are many people out there in the US, who have been victims of negligence and don't realize that they have a right to sue and they are currently burdened with medical bills that have accrued as a result of the injuries caused by other people's fault. Those people do have a need to know that they can recover monetary damages from the person responsible for their injuries. Just cause the website is there, doesn't mean that the people trying to sue will recover anything. The civil legal system usually sorts out the money grubbers from the real victims very quickly. I wouldn't worry too much. Thanks for the link and interesting article.

That's ridiculous. It's part of the reason life is becoming so difficult. There are so many things people will sue over. Has anyone thought about suing the government over our economy situation? I'd like to. I'd like to sue them for making my life so difficult and making it impossible for us to afford to have a decent life. You know back in the 60's families made equivalent to what my family does now... 1 working parent. But they still were able to afford family vacations and a decent, modest lifestyle.

Maybe this site will become popular especially to those people who are really difficult to please..to those who cannot be contented with the simplicities of life, so to speak. Will they be offering case assessments for free, well it makes them more popular. Happy posting!
