Do you own a deep freeze? Chest or upright?

I have just moved into a rented house which has a fridge with a smallish freezer integral, so I do have one just now. Before I came here I kept ours turned off because I didn't use it enough though. The one here currently contains loads of bread rolls as the baker only comes a couple of times a week and it's a long drive to the bakery if I don't mka ebread, and some greeen beans. When I used to use one all the time in the UK, I kept it stocked with all the things I was able to pick up either reduced or on special offer. Then I could take advantage of bargains but not have to eat the same thing for a week to use it up. I'm learning to preserve produce in different ways so that having a freezer isn't so important, though I will buy a chest freezer when we start keeping more animals for the table.

I have a freezer chest. We bought one when my husband was working for a feedlot as part of his benefits is we used to get free meat it would usually be a side of beef so you need something decent size to keep all of that in. I love my deep freeze.

We don't have room for one in here. It's nice that they have upright ones nowadays, and if we were to get one that's probably what it would be, as there's no way in hell we'd have room for a chest freezer, but even an upright would cramp this tiny apartment. It would also be expensive on the hydro bill.

I used to have an upright freezer and kept fish and other stocks of food. I once kept a huge Christmas turkey in there for months. Its useful to have and you can store large amounts of valuable food items in it.

I do own a large chest freezer. I stock up on anyting that is on sale. It is great to have when I do a very large Shop. I have never filled it all the way up, it is very big. I hit the bread store up once in a while and will buy like 10 loaves of bread. Then I do not have to think about that for several weeks. I would like to get a upright one day. because it always seems like whatever I need out of the freezer is on the bottom buried .....LOL
