Do you have medication that has to be taken at a particular time?

I just started on a medication that has to be taken once a week on the same day and I hate it! It has to be taken on an empty stomach, with nothing to eat or drink for half an hour afterward, I can't take my regular medication right away and I have to sit upright for that half hour. I'm the type of person who has to have my coffee immediately after getting up and then I usually take my regular meds (which are many) and then usually lay back down for half an hour or so. This medication has changed my whole morning routine. Are you on medication that has changed your routine and has to be taken at a certain time?

I am taking hypertension medication 3 times per day. I have been on this pill for 2o years now. It has been a routine for me to take my pills and am so used to it that it really has not changed anything for me.

I can sure relate to this, and I understand your frustration. Back in March I was 'officially' diagnosed with hypothyroidism. A couple of years before this, I'd been told that my thyroid was kicking in and out, but nothing was done about it (and it should have been). I've been on one pill a day since March, and will be for the rest of my life. The thing is, the pill has to be taken at the same time each day (although I can be off by about a half hour or so). There have been times when I've been off by an hour, which I don't like. Anyway, besides this, it must be taken on an empty stomach, and I can't have 'any' dairy products for four hours before or after this medication. It was really hard for me to choose my time, due to all of this, so I finally settled on 6:00 a.m. The 'dairy' part of this, was a huge consideration. As it is, I often have cereal or some other dairy for breakfast, so now can't have this until after 10:00 a.m. If I'd have chosen a night time for my meds, as many suggested to me, then what if I was out somewhere, and we were having a spontaneous gathering, and I couldn't have anything, because it was all dairy, and I have this four hour 'either way' thing. Believe me, the choice of time really does make a difference, as you know. Now I set my alarm for 6:00, and have my meds, etc., right beside me, then lay back down for awhile, but it's still a pain sometimes. Is your medication for osteoporosis, if you don't mind my asking? I've heard of others having to do this 'timing thing,' and the part about not being able to lay down for a specified period of time. I wish you all of the best with this, and hope that you're able to make the adjustment okay. Believe me, I know how hard it is. Take care.

Yes, it is for osteoporosis....I know a lot of women my age are on it and say it's a pain in the butt also.
