Before anyone say's the back of their eyelids - I want you to visualize a farmer plowing his land, the hot sun beating down on his back as he wipes the sweat from his brow and continues to cultivate the soil with his plow. What color hair does the farmer have? Does he have hair? Is it curly? Straight? Does he have a hat on? Is it made of straw? Does he have a piece of wheat or straw in his mouth? Is he using tobacco? Why or why not? Does he have a farmer's tan? Would you date him? Does he have a wife and children? How old are is his children? Is he just a child himself? What is he harvesting? Does he have a chicken house? Does he have pigs? Does he have a windmill? Are you wondering why I'm asking you this? I might write a story about a farmer and would love to see everyone's own visualization of this. So please, if you are going to respond, think hard and clear on this as I would love some serious inputs because as any author would tell you and any member of mylot would say, the more details the better of a response and the easier it is to respond to you. Not only that, but it will really help me get the ball rolling on this story if I so choose to do so. I appreciate all responses.

The farmer is Spanish with dark hair and dark eyes, his hair is short and his face is clean shaven but dusty. The field is barren, for now only tilling, next week will be time to plant the beans. He removes his dusty, seen better days, straw cowboy hat and grabs his handkerchief from his back pocket to wipe the sweat that is running down his face. His jeans are sadly faded with a slight rip to one of the knees. His long-sleeved, no longer white, shirt is rolled to the elbows. He looks up as his is wife calls to him, his 2 beautiful daughters standing by her side, she says she has supper on the table. His wife is not Spanish, her hair is dark but not the same blackness of her husbands. Her eyes are a soft green. He told her it was her eyes he fell in love with, that and her smile. They live in a small house, it's older but looks proudly taken care of. A small bed of flowers borders the front. Chickens pecking at the dirt that has never seen a blade of grass. He hears the few cows they have managed to obtain, ready for their evening meal of hay. He walks toward the house.......he may be poor but he is happy.

The farmer I visualized was wearing a baseball cap, he has bushy grey hair protruding from the bottom of the hat. His skis is deeply tanned, and a bit wrinkly, and he has a big grey bushy mustache. He is sucking on a piece of hay as he rides his tractor.

the just risen sun bores down on him as he stretches his back for a moment to wipe the sweat of his face with the soft yet bare threaded towel slung from his neck. he takes off his battered straw hat, it's edges already worn off, and his sweat soaked shirt to try and squeeze the water out of it. his bright brown eyes looked at the sun and the field before him glad that he accomplished much before it got too hot out. his muscled body was browned by constant exposure to the sun and mud. the world was waking up around him as he put his shirt and scratchy hat back to finish his task whistling a bit. he prodded the carabao in front of him to continue walking as he thought about the cool shower and warm breakfast waiting back at home before he needs to rush out and catch the morning bus to the local community college where he was studying. i'm picturing the farmer about 20 or so, about 6ft, black or brownish hair, lean body, and a kind face. he'd be in college, taking up farming or agriculture or even biology. he would not be the brightest but he is smart. conservative, even traditional values with great respect for hardwork and diligence. the farm would have chickens around the house with some pigs in a corral somewhere near.

When I close my eyes, I see this farmer he has a nice deep tan from the golden shards of sunlight teasing on his flesh. He is in his 20s, around the age of 25,he's tall about 6'1" a charming smile to melt the heart of a girl. His brow is glistening with sweat which clings into wet hair of golden brown, straight bangs teasing just past his eyebrows and the rest of his hair teases at the back of his neck, he's muscular from all the farm chores. His cowboy hat tossed aside on the ground within the tall blades of ripe green grass that sways along the tease of the wind, if you look at his lips you see a piece of straw tilted to the left side while his teeth dance across it just to keep his mouth busy. He turns only to listen to the animals that are upon his farm, the grunt of pigs with one having a new litter, the neigh of a horse and the cry of a foul for it's mother, behind him is a lush green pasture filled with sheep and a few cattle roaming about with them, babies stay close to their mothers, a place full of life and happiness the farmer feeling a sense of peace for once in his life. His life is the animals on the farm, trading, buying selling cattle for their meat. Somewhere in the distance the clucking of hens echo's into the air, the reminder of the fresh eggs he gets every morning making his mouth water and before he turns in for the night he checks on making sure that his live stock is in good hands.

That was very beautiful and so very descriptive. I loved how you described the farm, in an almost panoramic sense. I appreciate the response.
