but there are sites that do not use it. They use Alert Pay. What experiences do you have with Alert Pay? What do they have to know about you? Do you like it?

1. Rozie37 (7158) | 1 year ago | I have never heard of "Alert Pay." So I do not know if I would trust them. I mostly use PayPal also. Then there is Revolutionary Money Exchange, it seems pretty cool. If I were you, I would type it in on Google.com and see what they say about it. Or if you can find an address where they are located, go to http://www.betterbusinessburearu.com and see what you can come up with.

2. elemental69 (1023) | 1 year ago | I am sorry to say that if I come across a site that doesnt use paypal then I dont use them.... I am a bit cautious that way, sometimes too cautious. I have become so used to paypal and I know its dependable that I am almost afraid to use any other form. I have found that a lot of site that used paypal at one time no longer use them become paypal wont allow payments from them for some reason......

3. Lejandro (891) | 1 year ago | By my short experience with alertpay, they're pretty alright. Once I have a problem logging in and sent ticket to costumer. Less than 24hrs I had a very professional assistance from thier customer support. A good sign of a legit business. They're pretty much thesame as paypal but from what I heard they charge a little more than paypal. Especially withrawing your money to your bank account. I guess there's no problem if you try them.

akuseru (1960) | 1 year ago | The Personal Starter account from AlertPay does not have any fees to send or receive money. They only charge $.50 for withdrawals to a bank account. If you're patient and don't mind letting your balance build up a bit, it's more worthwhile than withdrawing every time you receive a few dollars.

4. akuseru (1960) | 1 year ago | I was extremely hesitant to use AlertPay when PTC sites started switching to it over PayPal. I understand why they had to do it, but I still was not comfortable using a payment processor that I knew absolutely nothing about.
I gave it a shot anyway, but I was so uncertain that I opened a new savings account with an extremely low balance with ING Direct just for the purpose of linking to my new AlertPay account. I'm glad I did, because all of my fears were unfounded.
I do not like the fact that AlertPay only allows its Personal Starter account holders to link two email addresses to their accounts. On the other hand, I love the fact that AlertPay requires a person to have the account's primary email address to log into it. You can't just log in with any address linked to the account like you can with PayPal. I have one email address set as the primary, and the other is the one that I give to all of the PTC sites I've joined. I feel a little more secure knowing that they can't access my AlertPay account with the address they have.
I was worried about requesting a withdrawal from my AlertPay account to my bank account, because I did not know if it would actually go through or not. I waited until I had about $13 in the account because of the $.50 withdrawal fee, then requested it. If you decide to get an account with AlertPay, let me tell you one thing: withdrawals from AlertPay take longer to be processed than withdrawals from PayPal. My withdrawal was processed just fine, but it did take a few days more than I was expecting: about a week, if I recall correctly.
As far as the information that AlertPay wants from its members, it's really pretty basic. I did not have to give out my social security number or any other really questionable information. I think they wanted name, address, and phone number, along with a bank account and routing number to process withdrawals. I'm really hesitant about the information I give out online, but I didn't have any problems with what they asked for.
I'm not sure that I prefer AlertPay over PayPal or vice versa, but I'm very satisfied with it as a payment processor for the sites that I've joined. I do wish it had a money market fund option like PayPal does, but all things considered I don't have anything to complain about in regards to it.

6. drannhh (7582) | 1 year ago | Funny you should ask because I just signed up for AlertPay less than an hour ago. Problem is I signed up for the free Personal Starter level, but when the verification e-mail came and I logged in, the account proved to be a Personal Pro account instead, the difference apparently being that the Starter account has no fees for sending or receiving ($3 fee to withdraw, however, just like the others) whereas the Pro account charges a fee and a percentage too. So I sent a help ticket and asked them what to do. We'll see what they say.
I hope that anyone who comments here will tell us if they use AlertPay what they like about it. One PTC program I am in uses it, which is why I signed up, but I'm starting to wonder.

GardenGerty (20548) | 1 year ago | I have looked at a lot of PTC sites that only use Alert Pay. I have a good site that uses Pay Pal that I am withdrawing from because of some personal convictions about some of the ads, and I would like to find something else to do. I really liked how it was set up and how well I was earning.

7. CatsandDogs (5156) | 1 year ago | I have alert pay and it works like paypal, you can recieve a check or have set to direct deposit. The only bad thing I see is, it charges 50 cents for direct deposit. I'm not sure what the charge is with the others but I do know for a $10. withdrawl to deposit to my bank account, it cost me 50 cents. I bit stiff I think but got to take it or leave it. Oh and it doesn't transfer to paypal which I find not so nice.

8. lucky_witch (2105) | 1 year ago | I dont want to use alertpay. The fees are really high. I remember when I transfer $1.14 from one of my earnings, I was shocked to see that only $0.14 were credited and the $1 was been considered fee. I prefer to use paypal. So if I see that the site doesn't accept paypal, I automatically do not join.

10. sreekumarn86 (423) | 1 year ago | I have always been using PayPal. I think the AlertPay thing is new. One thing for sure is that its taking up many of the PTC sites. Some of them now do accept PayPal and AlertPay, but some only PayPal or only AlertPay. I am yet to make a transaction with AlertPay. Since i have been using PayPal for long now, I am a bit skeptical about AlertPay. Other than that i dont think there is a problem because a lot of people seem to be using them. I personally still like PayPal. Old is gold:)
