Do you prefer to wear skirts or trousers and why?

Thanks for your reply. I agree with you. I think women look better in skirts. I find trousers uncomfortable, especially tight ones like jeans but it can be cold wearing skirts in winter.

Thanks for your response. I was a tom boy when I was a young girl and it never bothered me if I was wearing skirts or not, I just did what I wanted. I like skirts because I feel prettier when I wear them and more graceful. I like the way they swish around my legs.

Jeans are ok and I have worn them in the past but I find that they are uncomfortable because they are tight and loose pants just feel so masculine to me.

Why should your tummy affect your wearing skirts? I thought it did not matter. I think I look slimmer in a skirt than in trousers as long as the skirt is not gathered to the waist.

I like to wear flared skirts that sit neatly around the tummy and flair around the knees, or have a flat panel over the tummy and then gathered a little around the hips.

It's much easier for me to find pants that look good on me than skirts. they seem to hold the tummy in better.

Interesting. I never thought that skirts would disadvantage you in running. I thought that was all to do with the shoes you wear. I suppose if you wear high heels with skirts and flats with pants then that would make a difference.

I don't mind looking "girly" even when I am not as it fools the person who underestimates me. They think you are soft and find out that you are not.

If you think something is awesome then it is for you. I do not see why we should follow someone else's rules about what looks right or not. It is what you like and want to wear that is important not what someone else thinks. Besides challenging people is fun.

They trip me up, unless I'm pretty focused I can be clumsy. Skirt+foot=fail lol.

I'm not girly or tomboy really, so it annoys me when someone says I'm one or the other. I agree though, surprising people is fun.

Though it's pretty much a given with me, because I'm pretty small. I'm five feet tall, and just a hundred pounds (a couple more when I'm muscled).
People don't usually think I'd be able to stand a chance against an assailant...but...that's what people get for assuming things.

I also feel feminine when I wear skirts and i know I feel prettier in them. I used to wear jeans but I find them too uncomfortable these days. I went through a period of wearing only pants as a rebellion against people who thought girls should wear only skirts. But I grew up wearing skirts and I went back to them now that I am older and do not care what people think any more.

I have always liked them and now I do not care what other people think. I wear my hair long and I wear skirts and I love it. My mother would have been horrified at someone my age wearing long hair. To her that was only something young girls did and when they grew up they cut it off but I have long grey hair and I love it.

Pants are fine, I wore them for years but I have alway preferred skirts and now I find that I simply prefer to wear them as a matter of choice. I used to be a little boyish and now I like to feel feminine.

I agree that when you are active pants can be much more practical. I wear them in winter to keep warm but I still prefer skirts if I am going out.

Thanks for your comment. I agree that pants can be more practical but I just love skirts and have been wearing them by choice now for years. When I was a child I wore skirts by choice and school uniforms for girls are always skirts, then I went through a period where I wore nothing but pant for years and I thought that wearing skirts would make me seem weak and feminine.

Now I am older and I actually no longer care what people think of my dress. I dress in skirts because I enjoy feeling feminine and I feel prettier in them. The older I get the less I care what people think. One day I hope to be able to do anything I feel like without even thinking about what people might think.

I know how you feel. I have been wearing skirts for a long time now and I feel much more comfortable in them. I do wear pants in winter when it gets really cold but only around the house.

I feel odd if I go out in pants and much prefer skirts even if it is cold. I like to feel feminine and skirts do that for me. I used to wear full length skirts when they were in fashion. I just love the feel of them.

I agree about skirts in warm weather. I find them the coolest things to wear especially if there is a nice breeze blowing but it also makes them cold in winter.

I used to wear trousers at work all the time until my bosses bought me a suit for a function that was a jacket and skirt, it was sort of like a uniform. They appeared to have a view about girls in skirts. Up until then I had been wearing trousers for years but getting back into skirts made me try them again and I discovered how much I liked them.

I gave them up for years because they were too feminine. Now I like them because they are feminine. I agree that it depends on what you are doing. If you are climbing around things a lot then pants are better.

I used to wear pants out as well but now I much prefer skirts.
