What is the most beautiful sight to see in the United States of America? I realise your answers will be completely subjective but let's read it anyway. In my opinion it is the Grand Canyon in Arizona.

Singout! Do you live up to your name? I agree with you on the Grand Canyon, but so are the Grand Tetons, Rockies, Yellowstone, Painted Desert, beaches, and so many other places. But you will never find another continent like ours that has everything that other countries are know for all rolled up into one. We have mts, of all kinds, beaches, hills, rivers, plains, deserts, lakes, forests and whatever else that others are specifically known for, we have here at home. We have a great country to live in and enjoy and we should take time to see some of it before we pass on. Life is too short not to enjoy what we take advantage of here at home.

Having visited the Canyon one time,I have to agree with You,and say that flying over it and seeing a sunset there is one of the most spectacular natural wonders I've ever seen..but I can't say I'm too widely travelled within the US,much of the rest of my time visiting there over the years has been up and down the east coast from Vermont on down to Virginia visiting with friends and relations..and most of that has been around the Cities..I've seen something of the New England "Foliage" in October, but the one time We went for a drive specifically to see it,it rained! The Cherry Blossom festival in DC in spring is nice too..

Thanks for the response ShepherdSpy. Hmm. The Cherry Blossom Festival, huh? I'll put that one down on my list as a possible place to visit when I fully retire.
I live in one of the most beautiful parts of the country now in VA. and no matter where I go, I'm still glad to see those green mountains.

I found the Pacific Ocean a beautiful sight. I loved seeing the sea lions and the pelicans. I thought the sight of the Golden Gate Bridge was awesome. I haven't yet been to see the Grand Canyon but I have seen very impressive photos of it. I guess that it might well be the most beautiful sight in the USA.

This answer might be the most subjective one you'll get. The most beautiful sight to see in the United States of America, in my opinion, is home. Not my town or state, I mean home, where I hang my hat. Okay, where I hang my purse.
Other than that, I'd have to agree with you that the Grand Canyon has to be the most beautiful and breathtaking sight there is to see.

Hi again, mentalward. Thanks for responding to my new discussion. I figured if I'm going to drive into the jaws of a Hurricane tomorrow I might as well write another one. You are absolutely right. No matter how beautiful the place I visit, it's always good to come home to the place you hang your underwear, uh, hat.
The Grand Canyon was absolutely breath-taking and I would like to go back there some day.

I haven't seen the lastest prediction of where Gustav is expected to go, but last night it appeared to be taking a more westerly direction which should make it miss Florida completely. Maybe a few rain showers and breeze, but I doubt it'll be anything worse than that for you.
I really do hope that you guys have great weather for your weekend. If you're going fishing, catch one for me, okay? If you catch any prize-winners, I expect to see a picture of it posted here when you get back!
Enjoy your trip!

I have to agree with you on the Grand Canyon. It is very amazing. For me, it's one of those places on earth that one must visit in their lifetime, especially if they are in the U.S. or if they ever visit the country.. Nature is very powerful, one will realize this after visiting the canyon.

When I first saw it, I thought to myself how unreal it looked. All the colors and landscapes which make it so beautiful were a sight to behold. That day I looked off in the far distance and noticed a helicopter flying near the bottom. It was so tiny, it was hard to see without binoculars. Amazing! Thanks for the response, inutme.
