Mylot Guidelines Frequently Violated

In my own observation many users have unintentionally violated some guidelines here because they have not really taken time to read the guidelines here. Have you spotted one ye? Well, here are the DONT's guidelines I find always violated: DONT's: -------- 1) Thank everyone that responds or comments on your discussion. This will not increase your earnings. 2) Make multiple posts on the same subject for the purpose of getting attention paid to your issue. 3) Respond to a discussion until you've read all of the responses. 4) Start a new discussion unless you have something of substance to say. 5) Post to “flame” other users! Being mean to others is just not fun. Anything derogatory that is directed at a myLot user is strictly prohibited. Just be nice and have fun! How about you have you done any violations so far. I supposed those are unintentional just as I did. Other might just say what is wrong with this and that. Why it is included in the Don'ts? Well, we are here in one community where there are guidelines to follow. The best is to read the guidelines and abide by the rules.

My dear, it means reading all the responses of others and then out of the ideas you got from the responses of others you cheat by copying them in you own response. Of course it does not necessarily mean we should not read the responses of other. We can always do. I myself love to read them because it entertains me a lot and I also learned from the views of others. But when we read our motive is to learn something useful or see how the thread is going on but never to the ideas of any one. In order to avoid getting tempted or getting influenced by the response of others, it is better not to read before responding. Just answer on the basis of your own views. I hope I have helped you my dear!

Oh my daughter, I did not know that before either! I thought it was being polite of me too just like you. It was not until I saw the guidelines and learned that it is one of the things they discouraged the users to do! My dear, if you give around 4 sentences aside from saying thank you, you will earn extra for that. I have proven that already so I am sharing that valuable information to all of you. Enjoy your weekend!

Yes, i totally agree with you in this case. Max. people are involved in just getting money instead of following the rules they are just going on, no one has time to look back on the previous discussions in which they responded or they started..

Many here are for the money but they are making a lot of mistake if they violate because the more they violate, the less earning they will get. It's good to stay here without thinking of the money all the time. There are many other benefits around worth considering. Thank you for your good views.

1. Won't increase your earnings, but people like to reply out of acknowledgement for the answers, if people want to do this and don't expect anything in return for it I don't see a problem with it. 2. That is wrong. 3. I don't understand that one, do you mean respond over and over again on discussions that are not your own. 4. That's subjective - What has substance to one person might not have substance to another or vica versa. 5. Being mean is very bad and should not be tolerated.

Well lady, that is your preference if you want to follow the guidelines or not. But what is the use of staying in the community when you don't find their guidelines acceptable to you? I would rather follow the guidelines for afterall I am the one benefitted.

Yes, most of us perhaps have done some violations at one point. But good thing is that these are not intentional and after learning we are willing to do better. Have a nice day!

I see people doing some of these things often but these are guidelines. not rules!! I understand that I wont get paid for thanking people that respond to my discussions, does that mean I should be rude and not say anything? On iscussions that have more then fifty responses am I supposed to read them all before I respond? I mean some of these are just being curtious. I dont mean any disrespect here but guidelines are not rules, they are just like helpful hints. Thats the way I understand it anyway. Cheers, Tianna

But come to think of it, guidelines are also rules. They are helpful hints indeed but they are rules by itself. There are guidelines here that when violated will not give you any points and that is the punishment for it and there are guidelines as well that when violated will led you to be warned and if repeated will lead the closure of your account. Try it my dear so you will know, just kidding! That means therefore that guidelines here should not be taken lightly. What is the big deal about guidelines or rules. What is important is that we are following whatever guidelines have been written. Nobody told you to be rude by not saying anything my dear. You've got to read my entire post very well before reacting.

Hello salonga. I like your discussion here. I always tend to say 'thank you' in my discussions and I keep forgetting to omit that, ha! And another thing when I first started out in mylot was to put on referral links and I was told by someone that that was a violation. So I try to stick to the rules nowadays and making a good habit out of it. Have a nice day.

Ahh, I see. No wonder. So I could say thank you for your response in that manner as long as I have something more to add to it. That really makes sense, thanks for enlightening. LOL. See, it's becoming a habit, so yeah.

I also made that same mistake when I was just starting but when I read the guidelines thoroughly it was only then that I learned I was not sticking to their guidelines. Actually, saying thank you should not really be omitted if you feel like saying it but the point is you have to say something more to make your comments more substantial for you to earn points from it and also for the discussion to be healthier.

i also encounter a lot of these violations you mentioned. and i can say that i, for once or some times, violated these. but there is one that i had already opened up previously, that is about the number 3 in your list. there are lots of members that prefer to give their response from the inbox, from the notifications. and from the notification, there is no link that we have no choice but to respond to this discussion. i would like to see something like view this discussion so we have the option to read the whole discussion before giving our response. if we try to read all responses to that discussion, we still have to go through some more steps like viewing our friends profile, then our friend's started discussion, then browsing from there. a little more complicated procedure just to read all those responses. Yes, I for one preferred to give my response fron the notification and from that I really can't see the responses of others. When I received a notification and I found it interesting, I would be very excited to reply immediately and had no time looking at others responses anymore. Actually I don't normally look at the responses of others unless the issue is a hot one and I would want to see who have the same opinion as mine but I do that only ater I've posted mine.

I sometimes say thank you to my friends who responded to my discussion my friend, maybe you received it sometimes.. but not only thank you words, I write more... Anyway, it's just a sign of being grateful. there are times too that you can't think of other things to say except to thank them.. But good you make this discussion as a reminder. Have a nice day.

Yes I know dear! I myself also did that before because I was not aware of the guidelines yet. Saying thank you can still be part of the response if we feel like including it, but myLot is discouraging short sentences for a response. The more sentences we add, the more we earn. That is how I understand why they discourage saying thank you. Anyway, I wish to thank you friend for contributing here! Have a nice day!

Hi mommy..^_^ i used to say "thanks for responding" in all of the users who had left a comment in my discussion..i have also pointed out a certain user who had done something wrong her in mylot...and there are more that i can't remember..i just think that whenever a discussion of mine is deleted it means i have violated mylot rule and i have been reported.

Oh my daughter, I also committed a lot of thank you violations before. Of course it is not really a violation that will cause our discussion to be deleted but now I understand that although the discussion is not deleted, it is the additional earning that is being missed in that discussion. Well we do learn from experience, I supposed you have learned yours! Enjoy your weekend!
