How many hours do you sleep?

I have seen some people functioning so well with just few hours of sleep. My body mechanism is such that I can't function well without some eight hours of sleep. Just curious to know how many hours myloters generally sleep. Please share.

I could function quite well on weekdays on just 5-6 hours of sleep but, come weekends, I usually make it a point to get at least 14 hours of sleep between Friday and Saturday. Which is a complete turnaround from my sleeping habits during my late-high school/early-college years when I had insomnia and could barely manage to get in 3 hours' worth of sleep. I'm just glad I got over that. XP

5-6 for a week! That is difficult for me. I need little more than that. Hmmm compensating on the weekends, huh! that's nice to hear.

Well, it's more of like a work hazard, getting only so much sleep. *lol* But yes, sleeping in on weekends is fun (unless I have to work then, too. XP).

I sleep around 7 hrs a day on average. But it varies a lot. After a very busy day, i sleep longer..during exams, can manage with 5 hrs though i compensate later (not equally with same no. of hours lost ) when sick, i sleep even upto 15 hrs a day. Also depends on location. In country side/village, i don't need any afternoon nap and sleep longer and more peaceful at night.

I usually sleep about eight hours a night. It depends on what I am doing. If my day has been really packed and I have been running from one place to the next I usually sleep closer to nine hours. I only very rarely wake up to an alarm. I usually just let my body wake up when it is ready to get up which is usually pretty early as long as I go to be early.

Sometime I need to put alarm cos of work. You know how pleasant life would be without alarm clock! The world will not be mad being busy... everybody sleeps well, and all will smile the whole day, so to speak :-)

lol. Everyone always asks why I am so happy all the time. It is because I did not wake up to the siren-like noise they did!

I sleep 6 to 7 hours a day without taking a nap but I don't think it's enough because I still feel asleep in the morning.

Good! cos there are other people like me :-) Only once in a month I would be ok with 6-7 hours of sleep. Otherwise I need 8 hours a day.

I'd say I sleep about 5-7 hours a day, on a regular basis. It depends if I'm busy and so swamped with work that I have to stay awake, which then I'll even decrease it to 3 hours or forego it entirely. Strangely enough, on days where I don't have sufficient sleep, I feel slightly more alert, but a little light-headed, and not sleepy at all. Kinda weird huh?

Oh, you are not normal :-) cos it's weird. If I don't sleep well the entire day I would feel sleepy. But it's good to have such a body cos lots can be done.

Hi there headhunter525! I would love to sleep for full straight eight hours. It is just so unfortunate that due to some factors, I can't sleep for that number of hours. During weekdays, I only get to sleep for an average of 6 hours. That is because I spend a lot of time in the evening preparing my lectures for the next day. Then, I need to wake up early the next day for work. During weekends, I get to sleep for around 8 hours but not all the time. Sometimes I would go out with my friends and I sleep late in the evening and wake up early the next day.

Why don't you changed job then ;-)... just kidding! You work as a lecturer? That's a nice job.
