My kids have to put their dirty dishes in the sink, but I have not started making them wash them yet. My son is 8, so I think soon he will be able to wash them too. My daughter is only 19 months old, so I think getting her to put them in the sink is quite and accomplishment.

Hiya blue,
Me too I used to have to wash all the Dishes I used including other People´s as well. If I leave mine to wash up they will leave the dishes for ages on end and seeing as I only have one Sink to wash up in I get rid of them myself and wash it all up.
In fact I have just been washing the Dishes up now from before they just pile them up in the Sink and away.
Most times I don´t say anything and just wash them although one or two times you can get to feel annoyed at the same thing being done over and over.
I have trained my Kids to do this but like water of a Ducks back they just won´t do it full stop.xxx

My children wash, dry and put away there own breakfast dishes in the mornings. The rest of the time they do round robin chores.

God I wish I could manage to train my kids to do that! Actually, my 5 year old does sometimes try to wash up .. what a mess! The other 2 are only 3 years old so perhaps a bit soon to expect them to wash up ... although they could perhaps start trying to load the dishwasher - lol
