the last time you talk to your parents and/or siblings

I just finished talking to my mom and a thougt came to mind. I am one of the fortunate ones who are still able to talk to their parents even thought they're adults already. Most of the people I know, they have no more communication with their family except for the occasional Christmas or Birthday cards. They say it's because they are so busy and dont have time for those things anymore. But if you think of it, how sad it could be that you have to severe your ties with your family just because of time. Time is always there, you could always own it and be the boss of it. But with others, what happened is that they become the slave of their time. Although, I wouldn't say that everyone is the same. There may be so many reasons why someone cut ties with their family. It is really up to the person.

Very good point! People do become slaves to time, I see it everywhere. I am one of the fortunate ones who keep in better contact with my family. We do have members that have this problem, so it can be difficult to keep the lines open. But we who value our time and our family, we make it a point to do our best to keep the lines open. I talk to my mom at least 3 times a week, we email just about everyday, and visit about once a month. She is my closest relative as well as friend. My youngest brother and I talk a little less often, but we also send messages through mom. Us three are the closest.

I speak to my parents everyday and most of my siblings everyday. We are a very close family and with the exception of one sister we all live in the same state. For the most part in the same area, neighboring cities. Though we don't see each other for a couple of weeks at a time.

Even though I now live states away from my parents and sister, we still stay in touch all the time. I normally talk to them at least twice a week. We call each other, send cards, letters, share pictures throughout the year, not just at holidays. It is sad that people get too busy with their own lives that they loose touch with those that matter most.

I live almost 300 miles away from my family but we are always in contact, we speak on the phone a lot as its their way of keeping in contact with my children also. I email my parents several times a day and we go and visit when we can. Id be heartbroken if my only contact with them was a christmas card, I miss them of course but i have learnt to live my own life away from them and im very very happy here but id never ever lose contact with them, sadly some people find its not always possible though for what ever reason
